I work for a contractor associated with FAHW, and may be able to shed some light of the contractors position. FAHW has a contract with certain contractors in which FAHW will send out workorders to one company in bulk if the contractors agree to accept a uniprice. Uniprice means the contractor will only be paid $90 regaurdless of the work done or the price of parts. While it is true the contractor does agree to this contract, we felt like we had to agree to unipricing to keep work coming in during a hard economic time. So, the contractor comes out to your home to diagnose a problem, a realized that to replace the unit would cost well over what he would be paid, so it will cost him money to buy the parts nessacery and install a new unit. However wrong it may be for someone to say to you "I cant get the parts" it may be his only option to stay in business.

hello, just noticed your report, and wanted to say document everything, person you spoke with, time, date, call, & names of service companies they send out along with contractors license (look up contractors info on bbb and or your local state licensing dept)...I had 3 contractors.... 2 of the companies they sent out to check my air did not have licenses......both gave different results......in case you didn't have this number, I thought I'd share it with you, I was told it's their LEGAL area....for claims. I'm 3 years into tryin' to get a claim resolved (oh, and the unit is still not fixed either) so best of luck....here's the phone 800-992-3400 (in case you didn't have this phone number)...lady I'm workin' with seems legit, her name is ROSE at ext 3510. Maybe if enough of us inundate her with our issues, we'll get resolutions.....argh!! best of luck...and God bless... ryan www.ryannicholson.com www.myspace.com/ryno
