The title company (in Washington) follows directions given by your loan officer or bank. They are not the ones that messed up. The bank messed up in their directions to them.
Contact your loan officer, underwriter or loan processor that was helping with the loan, request the loan officer contribute some to help out with these new expenses/costs that you were previously not advised of.

You do have an action to make them accept their first agreement, it is called breach of Contract in the law.
The law considers an agreement that is signed by all parties to the agreement to be binding. Therefore amendments can only be made if agreed to by all parties. So if you signed an agreement and received a signed agreement by First American Title they can not change the terms without your agreement. This works both ways, so if you do or did agree to pay the additional money then now it is to late to do anything if you signed or anyway agreed to the increased payment, including paying it.
First American Title is not a good company and usually works with the sellers and not the buyers, so beware doing business with them, on this website you can read other horror stories of people who have problems with them.
My ex-wife has a current problem which is also a horror story and it appears she will have to sue if she wants justice.
