Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I was contacted via email spam for potential referals for Buyers and Sellers of Real Estate, as I am a Real Estate Broker. I called the number listed a couple times and then was given to someone else who stated he will take care of it. Mr. Kevin D. stated that there were 23 referals for my area and that they were going to cost $20/lead. I stated that I am not going to pay up front for leads that may or may not be legitimate. He stated that is okay, all you have to do is write out a check to us for the $460 and then just fax us a copy of it. Then when I start getting leads that were going to pay off, then I could send in the actual check to the address given and then they would deposit it. Well, I have a special account for this type of transaction that I use when I am unsure about something, and I don't put money into it unless I am positive it is legitimate. I sent them the copy and two weeks later I still haven't received any leads; I have been told 3 times that they were confirming the leads and that my info was being put into the system. In the meantime, I received a letter from my bank stating that I had a check bounce and guess which check it was? Yep, the $460 I faxed to First Century. How do you deposit a faxed copy of a check? Anyway, I have been attempting to get hold of my contact for the past two days with no response. He is always out of the office when he does respond to my emails and promises to call me that afternoon, yet never does. I think he works part time. I was also contacted by a lady in the IT department who wanted to get my company info to post it on Yahoo search engine or something. I haven't sent it to her.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to pursue legal action against these guys for flat out lying to me and somehow depositing a faxed copy of a check? If I eventually get something out of this I will definity repost a positive comment, but for now, I feel it necessary to share my experience.
