After receiving several late payment penalties, for payments which were paid well in advance of the due date. I decided to pay in full and cancel the card. FCNB Refused to remove the late penalties, even after I provided written proof that payment was submitted 14 days prior to the due date. Their "Customer Service" People, suggested I send the payment in earlier because payments can sometimes take several weeks to process.

The following Month I received another late payment. I repeatedly spoke with representatives and managers with no resolve. I asked to cancel the account on several occasions, suggesting they take my security deposit to balance the account. (At this point losing this was a BARGAIN if it eliminated the constant phone calls and arguing). The account stayed open, and the late fees kept adding up.

I am now seeking legal action to have FCNB's collections removed from my credit report.
