Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
First Exam advertised their Postal Battery Exam Preparation Guide in the local newspaper. After discussing the product and process with a live person, I was assured that the fee of $99.50 was fully refundable. After receiving the material I visited their website which has no information about who they are, but directs one immediately to the USPS site.

As no tests have been offered in my locale for several months and I secured other employment, I returned the guide per written instructions and requested a refund. The Atlanta Bulk Mail Center sent a letter with the labels used to mail the guide attached stating "an empty wrapper with your address was found in the mail and is believed to have been separated from a parcel during handling." Presumably, the parcel never made it to the P.O. Box number supplied to me, but this experience motivated a search for reports of similar incidents.

After reading the posted reports at ripoffreport.com I don't believe any further attempt to contact First Exam will produce a positive outcome. First Exam intentionally created the impression that the guide was the first step in the process of testing for employment with the post office and this is totally false.

THOSE ARE SOME OF THE OLDEST RIP-OFF SCAMS --BEEN AROUND FOREVER!

I saw those when I was looking for a job. THERE ARE TWO KINDS BUT IT IS A BASIC SCHEME. 1. JUST BECAUSE YOU SEE SOMETHING IN A NEWSPAPER DOES NOT MEAN THAT IT IS LEGITIMATE OR THAT YOU CAN EVEN BELIEVE IT! YOU CAN NOT GET A GUARANTEED JOB WITH THE US POST OFFICE BY PAYING SOME SCAMMERS UP FRONT WITH SOME TEST WHICH IS PROBABLY NOT EVEN WHAT THEY ARE REQUIRING EMPLOYEES TO KNOW THESE DAYS. THE BEST WAY TO BE SURE YOU GET ON WITH THE US POST OFFICE IS TO BE A HONORABLY DISCHARGED MILITARY VETERAN BECAUSE THESE FOLKS GET HIRING PREFERENCE WITH THE USPS. YOU MIGHT GET A SEASONAL OR A PART-TIME RURAL ROUTE MAIL CARRIER JOB BUT YOU DON'T GET IT LIKE THAT. WHEN YOU ARE IN DOUBT, ASK THE PEOPLE WHO WORK AT YOUR POST OFFICE HOW THEY GOT THEIR JOBS. NOT BY GETTING RIPPED OFF LIKE THAT! 2. THIS IS THE TELEPHONE NUMBER THAT IS ALSO LISTED IN THE NEWSPAPER WHERE IF YOU CALL IT IT WILL PROMISE YOU EXCITING JOB LISTINGS AND MERCHANDISE ( USUALLY MERCHANDISE THAT IS CLAIMING TO BE SEIZED BY LAW ENFORCEMENT OR SOME OTHER LIE) AND RIDICULOUSLY LOW PRICES AND TO GET THIS INFORMATION, ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS CALL THE NUMBER! IF YOU ARE STUPID ENOUGH TO CALL, YOU BETTER CHECK THE AREA COE AND MAKE SURE IT IS NOT REALLY GOING TO A TELEPHONE NUMBER IN ANOTHER COUNTRY BECAUSE THE CHARGES ADD UP BECAUSE THE PERSON TELLS YOU THAT YOU ARE THE )MAKE UP A NUMBER) CALLER AND YOUR CALL WILL BE ANSWERED IN THE ORDER IN WHICH IS WAS RECEIVED. THEN WHEN YOU ARE ABOUT READY TO HANG UP, TAPED RECORDING OF SOMEONE TALKING VERY,VERY FAST WILL COME ON AND IF YOU DON'T HAVE YOUR PEN READY RIGHT THEN AND THERE, YOU WON"T BE ABLE TO GET ANY OF THE REQUIRED JOB NUMBERS, ETC. AT ALL. WHEN YOU TAPE IT, YOU FIND OUT THAT NONE OF THE NUMBERS ARE REAL ANYWAY OR THEY CAME FROM A YEAR OLD NEWSPAPER CLASSIFIED AD FROM SOME NEWSPAPER THAT YOU COULD HAVE GOTTEN FOR FREE IF YOU COULD HAVE GONE BACK FAR ENOUGH TO LOCATE THE PAPER --AND THEY ARE CERTAINLY NO GOOD NOW. THE WORST PART IS SEEING WHAT YOU THOUGHT WAS A US AREA CODE SUDDENLY BE A FOREIGN PHONE NUMBER WITH FOREIGN AREA CODE THAT CHARGES A PREMIUM PRICE AND YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Cause you have just been RIPPED OFF!
