Complaint Review: Fitness Equipment Depot Worldwide - Melville New York

My name is Brandon and I am a former employee of this disgraceful company. As of right now, I am preparing to take this company to court for money that I am entitled to, but they refuse to pay me (my commisiions). As I prepare for court, I am going to strive to reach as many people as possible to help them AVOID Fitness Equipment Depot Worldwide at ALL COSTS!

I have worked for this defraudulent company from April of 2014 to January 2015, and I still cannot believe the level of dishonesty that is customary and is reflective of the greedy president who runs it. I can tell you first hand that once you give your money to them, it is a nightmare trying to get it back when you do not recieve the item that you purchased, To make this report conscise, I will only tell you one of the craziest scams that occured durning my employment. 

The president of this company somehow bamboozled a customer into purchasing 75 Concept II Rowers from Fitness Equipment Depot Worldwide. Once the sales team, the other managers, and the workers in the back (who don't have any particular exprtise to fix gym equipment by the way) heard about his "sale" all we could do is shake our head. Why? Beacuse in my enitre time being there we have had less than 15 of the machines even pass through the door. Everyone knew that the president had ZERO intention of fullfilling the order. Especailly since he promised the customer that he would have them all delivered in two weeks.

Since I use to sit in close proximity to the president's assisant, we would discuss all the his disgruntled customers that would call and verbally abuse the president's assistant. And in two weeks when Mr. Concept II Rower's deadline passed, he became another one. 

By far the most popular line that we would hear is, "How come the president is so easy to get into contact with when I am deciding to make my purchase, but as soon as I give him my credit card he never answers his phone?" It's becausse he does not care about any of his customers. All he cares about is scaming them out of their money. 

So what are the sales people told to tell the customers who call? (because the people who are actually responsible for handling the situation simply ignore and dodge all such calls) "Well the paperwork you signed said that lead times are 4-6 weeks. I am not sure what the president promised you but leadtimes are usually 4-6 weeks. Sometimes they can be 6-8 weeks. When I have any more information on your order I can let you know." 

So what is the end result? Mr. Concept II Rower never received his order even though he entrusted tens of thousands of dollars to this company to deliver. THe president likely tried to charge him a 20% re-stocking fee for canceling even though the company NEVER had 75 Concept II Rowers to sell in the first place. These are the types of transactions that happen over and over again. IT happens to large accounts (There is a gym by the intials B F that was a 2 million dollar sale which the company could not fulfill) and amaller accounts (There was a gym by the intials R T B Fitness that was about $50,000 account that two personal trainers were ripped off when they tried to start there own gym. Not sure if they ever recovered from it.)

In conclusion, NEVER buy from Fitness Equipment Depot Worldwide, (fitnessplus.com). They also sell on ebay, and Amazon. The vast majority of itmes that they have advertised they do not have in stock and have difficulty getting since they owe so much money to their vendors. Don't trust them with a Hammer Strength orders, or Technogym orders. Most times if they can't find an item on craigslist for cheap to fill your order, the president will buy from Global Fitness. So just cut out the middle man. Buy from Global Fitness. During my time their I also had to try to copy from Used Gym Equipment and Pro Gym Supply. Any of these three companies can get you the equipment that you need! Please don't trust your hard earned money to this company!
