I know it's been a few years, but I just found this site and I wanted EVERYBODY to know NOT to use this company, EVER!!!

On June 3, 2003, the company contacted me about an estimate that I requested. I employed this company to move my possessions from Texas to North Carolina. This also included the cost of moving my automobile. I was quoted a price of $2200 for all, which included $600 for my car, packing AND unpacking. I sent them a check for half, $1100, which was required before they would move.

After all my possessions were packed in their truck, I was told that I would need an additional $2112 to cover the rest of the materials used! Since my possessions were already on the truck, I had no choice but to pay.

When my goods were finally delivered, the mover did NOT unpack, nor did I receive my car. There was only ONE man to move my belongings into my new apartment and he had to move someone else's stuff to get to mine. It seemed he had more than one stop to make. He was a contracted trucker who just leased his truck to different companies.

There was also a book shelf that was damaged in the process. The car carrier company called me three days later and I had to produce $695 in CASH, on a SATURDAY, before I could reclaim my car. I had already paid for this, however, Amanda, from Five Star told me she would reimburse me. I have seen nothing. I made numerous phone calls to Amanda, only to be told that she was working on it. Then they refused to answer the phone!

I reported this to the BBB, who sent me a letter telling me that they would have to drop the case since Five Star refused to respond to their requests. They referred me to the Attorney General of Texas, who then referred me to the Texas Dept. of Transportation. TDT, who then referred me to the BBB. I would like to have my $695 back and at least part of the extra $1000 I had to pay.

They are still in business, because you can find their address on Coit Road, in Dallas, TX.
