Flat Rate Moving, Flat Rate Movers, Flat Rate Systems, LLC, came and bid on 'property never visually inspected', 'Guaranteed Price', 'Guaranteed Delivery'....

A new branch office out of Oakland, Ca. The main branch in California, is out of Los Angeles. They did NOT inventory our personal property. Very new furniture, damaged. Diningroom set, Bedroom set, Antiques, broken, busted, scratched.

They REFUSE, to come 'look at the damages'. They REFUSE to 'move the remaining rooms, after 'being paid IN FULL'.

Our Mahogany piano, was 'dropped' on our entry steps. It busted the top, and second step, and splintered the bottom back of our piano, dented it along the side, and underneath.

I was awakened early this morning, the 'first time' I'd slept on our 'Four Poster', King Size bed, it 'SLAMMED', to the floor, slid me off onto the side of the bed, because 'they didn't set the frame up correctly', and the 'person who disassembled it' wrote NO instructions, nor did they 'come to 're-assemble' it.

"NO SURPRISES" is 'one of their mottos!! No Surprises??!!! Try being 'slammed' to floor, in your bed, (after having two failed spinal fusions and on Social Security Disability).

Try 'having blood clots', and 'FLAT RATE' refusing to let you in your own bedroom while the 'shoved your personal items into boxes', and 'your LIFE SUSTAINING MEDICATIONS'... into boxes NOT LABELED.... My wife also is on Social Security Disability. She's been on life support twice, and one of the 'Relocation Reps', wrote and 'made light' of her 'thought process', or 'not being able to make up her mind'... over 'VALUABLE ITEMS', they had 'thrown outside' in our backyard...???

It's been a DISASTER, Honestly. They've 'tried to shuffle paperwork'. Charged our Credit Card with the 'wrong name' on it. They REFUSE, to come 'look' at the damages. They REFUSE, to help us 'fix the bed' where my wife and I can 'lay down' properly.

FLAT RATE? Beware!! They tried to 'add' $150.00 per hour, 'additional fees', for 'waiting' for the US to 'pack our own boxes', when they had NEVER even 'PERSONALLY VIEWED/INSPECTED' an entire property but gave a 'bid' for moving/delivering.

We've had to contact the Public Utilities Commission, and are in the process of filing a complaint. Antiques, Family Heirlooms, bashed, broken, damaged, with NO REMORSE, NO ATTEMPT TO ADDRESS THEM, or Replace, repair, reimburse.

They seem to have 'no conscience' in the 'Supervisor Roles'. Some of the Workers, are/were very nice. Unfortunately, they've been 'recruited' by some very dishonest, underhanded, deceitful employers, who cannot possibly be 'Honorable' to work for, if they treat Disabled Persons like they have us.

If you should chose to 'Believe The LIE' of "NO SURPRISES"... You've been warned. I'll post an email address soon, to help others, and will update this. I have pictures of the damages, busted items, and the 'incomplete paperwork'.

They 'NEVER' asked if we had 'read' the "Important Information" from the PUC Guidelines. We have NO BED to sleep on, are in our front room, my wife on IV, they REFUSED, TO BRING HER IV POLE....

"NO SURPRISES".... You've been informed. Don't be 'SURPRISED' by 'FLAT RATE RIP OFF....

We had some Men from the Company to come and help repair our King Size Bed. We've also allowed them to 'take' our Marble Table, Large Antique Dresser, Beveled Glass Mirror ( Only a small portion opened/inspected/handled) by them, which all of it has been severely damaged. Yes, it's been an entire MONTH, and we still have 'huge boxes', unopened, damaged, etc.. It's been very depressing. Yes, we've received a couple 'Apologies', but when it comes to 'MONEY', they 'want theirs'.... but want to 'HOLD' what we've paid out in CASH, or '$5,000.00, and we get to 'wait'.. for them to 'attempt to repair' NEW ITEMS, patch them, attempt to repair them, while we live out of boxes? It's honestly very "SURPRISING" to me, that they have even 'attempted' to deny damages, deny 'not having taken inventory, deny hiding/suppressing PAPERWORK.. YES.. If I had to 'REFER' any 'Moving Company', that to me was 'REPUTABLE', this one, at this point, would NOT be my 'NUMBER ONE CHOICE'?? According to PUC Guidelines, we are 'entitled' to $100.00 per day, for the 'Items/Furniture/Personal Goods/ that the Company did NOT move. IT's been "20 Days TODAY"....?? Now, we've received "NO RESPONSE". Have 'allowed them' to take our 'NEW DINING/BEDROOM pieces they ' damaged' because they RUSHED, and 'threw things in boxes, didn't wrap them, didn't INVENTORY THEM'.. And "WE" have now become the "HOSTILE/ANIMOSITY FILLED CLIENTS"?? How 'upset' would you have been, if the Supervisor REFUSED your wife's presence and assistance in 'overseeing' the packing of your personal items, and they 'packed all her Cumadin/Life Threatening Medications', and 'literally TURNED YOUR NEW NIGHT STANDS' ... UPSIDE DOWN?... "FULL OF PERSONAL ITEMS"? "FULL OF THINGS THEY POSSIBLY SHOVED/PACKED INTO THE DRAWERS".. And the 'drawers' busted off, in the dresser, when it 'slammed against the side of the truck'? We will be posting pictures, of 'how these things were thrown in boxes', busted, torn up, BRAND NEW FURNITURE... if Mr. Ravich does NOT wish to help us, and provide EXACTLY what repayment or 'replacement' or 'CASH VALUE' of the things that are/were ruined... We've TRIED, to work with them, let them 'take our new tables, leave us with NOTHING, to have dinner on, nothing to place our clothing in, boxes still all over, and they seem to think I guess "WE" are 'picky'... and 'unyielding'... or 'not trying to settle'.. JUST THE MONEY/TIME SPENT ON "WRITTEN DOCUMENTS", to 'protect ourselves... has been the BIGGEST HASSLE. FLAT RATE... "NO SURPRISES"!! Please don't 'enter into any 'AGREEMENT'... 'UNADVISED'.... THIS IS REAL, IT IS HONEST, IT IS TRUE..... All I can say, is 'it is still not settled', and it 'still feels' like it's been 'FAR MORE A HASSLE' than Flat RATES claim of "NO STRESS" and "NO SURPRISES"!! IF THIS REPORT.... 'BACKS UP' that 'ADVERTISING'.... Go Ahead!! Take the bait??.......

Flat Rate Moving , Action Taken To Make Errors In Move Right

Flat Rate did send a 3 man team to our home here in Central California, to review the damages sustained in the move from Northern California. Very nice Guys, from the Los Angeles Office, came, went through our home, fixed up our King Size Bed (stronger and better than it was prior to the move, even!!..) They took our Mirror set, and are having a Professional Glass man/mirror, to look at it, and repair it. I have to admit, to have this group of Gentlemen, after the first 'Impression'... of what all occurred in the beginning, out of the Oakland office, and how things were handled/not handled, and the entire ordeal, left us feeling quite overwhelmed, cheated, ripped off, whatever. Whether it was our post on Rip Off Report, or a few different things, together, it seems it is finally getting addressed. I was able to lay on my bed, for the first time yesterday, and rest. Moving, is one of the MOST traumatic, stressful things any family can go through. To have finances, and health issues on top of that, it was 'less than blissful', to say the least. To atleast here "We're very very sorry, this should have never happened", and "We'll do our best to insure everything is addressed, fixed or whatever to your satisfaction", meant a lot to my wife and I. We're NOT the type of people who 'gripe' or are 'so nitpicky'... about everything. We understand errors happen, and no one is perfect. Whether "I" feel someone else 'deserves an apology or not'... NEVER keeps me from 'expressing that I am sorry'... for 'whatever' it is, was, was thought.. whatever.. We never heard that from the Oakland Office, and that is quite sad for the individual suffering such low self esteem, he is 'afraid' or 'too proud'.. to 'admit' fault, or 'just be willing', and humble enough to 'apologize'.... Whether the 'client'.. is 'Right'... or not... the 'client'... is 'Right', and 'needs to be listenened to, not 'cut off' in the midst of asking questions, needing clarification, needing to be educated further, whatever. We've been in 'Customer Service', and every form of Management, Sales Managment, Business Management, Training, all of it. And someone ' knows'.. when they are 'being ignored'... or 'being slighted'... or 'being rushed or avoided'... We do appreciate the Care and Concern from the Los Angeles Office of Flat Rate, and the spirit in which they came to our home, apologizing, and truly 'caring'... about our 'needs'.. THAT speaks 'VOLUMNES'... in Customer Care. Still there are many things that need addressing. But just to have 'someone who really cared'... express that they understood, they were "SORRY", and it 'should have NEVER been done the way it had, well... to us, that is what we really wanted to know. We'll NEVER go wrong, being KIND to one another. Caring for one another. People don't 'Care How Much We Know'... until they "Know How Much We Care".... My King Size Bed feels Great!! :)) Thanks!!!
