My story is the same as the others listed here. My wife received a call from a lady promising two free airline tickets if she joined their club. The woman on the phone said she would not be charged, but they needed her account information in order to verify the account. If after two weeks, we didn't like the offer, we could cancel.

Two weeks later, no package, $149 withdrawn from my account.

ACT IMMEDIATELY!!!

I called my bank the same morning the funds were withdrawn and they were able to return the check "unpaid". If I had waited just one day, it would have been there word against mine and all the headaches that go with that.

I didn't lose any money. I guess I was lucky to spot the withdrawal when I did.

You still have to change your bank account number though. If one crack-pot company has it, many more will soon have it.
