Beware!!I ordered a Beretta model 92 centurion 9mm pistol from their website FloridagunWorks.com on Feb 19, 2003. They acknowledged by e-mail that the $477.95 Postal money order was received. I was contacted saying that the gun I ordered was out of stock and they offered another model for the same price or I could wait until they got the model in that I ordered. I chose to wait for awhile. A

fter asking several times about the status of my order and being told they were "close to getting one" I contacted them and cancelled may order on April 24, 2003 and asked for a refund. They acknowledged my request and promised to process my refund. I waited 2 weeks (May 9, 2003) and asked them again, but they were "on vacation" and promised to process my request on their return. I contacted them again on June 2, 2003 with the promise of they would "check on the status" and get back with me. June 10, 2003 I contacted them by e-mail asking for a phone number so I could talk to someone in charge about my refund, with no response for a phone number. I asked again on June 25, 2003 for the immediate refund of my money saying I would complain to the Better Business Bureau, Federal Trade Commission and other organizations if my money was not returned immediately.

They acknowledged that it should have been processed already and promised to rush it ASAP, but to allow some time as they were out of town. With still no refund, I contacted them again July 11, and told them their time was up. It has been very clear for sometime that they are not running a respectable business and I may have no alternative other than to complain. I don't want any more consumers being taken by these con-artists.

On November 1, 2004, this customer dispute was settled. Apparently, the previous owners had an outstanding order for this customer. He followed the instructions on our rebuttal and faxed us verification that his money order had been cashed. As new management, we assume all liablity and issued him a check immediately. He was very happy that we did turn out to be honest business people. We thank him for faxing us all necessary documentation to help us get this resolved for him.

I have exhausted all measure to find an order or a payment from the complaintant above, however, I cannot find anything in our records that show a payment. We were bought out on 11/03, and some employees have been replaced, so it is hard to verify these claims that have been made. If this customer can fax me proof of payment to [DELETED], I will reserch it further and will be more than happy to provide a refund. Until then, this complaint is not valid. WE are a reputable company, we have been in business for over 8 years having served over 200,000 customers foreign and domestic. We try our best to make everyone happy. Sincerely, Manager Florida Gunworks
