...that we read about all too often on this site. And that is...you invested first..then got suspicious...then started to investigate.
I feel bad that this happened to you and it may be difficult to impossible for you to get any money back unless this company loses in court...but the report may help others who would consider using these types of companies. Exposing these scams are a good thing.
If you do things in the right order...investigate, suspect, do not invest if there are too many negative reports...this could be easily avoided.
I did an online search which took seconds..simply search "Fortune learning Systems" and then the word scam or fraud or complaints etc...and it all the info you need will be in front of you. For example.."wiki" shows this..
Is Fortune Learning Systems a scam?
In: Companies
There are extensive complaints that it is.
They charge you a very large upfront fee (an "investment") and in return they are supposed to help you set up a variety of businesses. What typically happens is that if you send the money - usually more than a thousand dollars - that you just get more pitches for more money to be "invested".
It has been reported that getting a refund from them is not something that is going to happen. Just stories, delays and transfers to various departments.
Bottom line? Do not pay money to work!
Or...search the name of any company...and "BBB". Not that the BBB reports are fail safe..but it can give you a heads up...For this company it says..
"This business is not currently rated. BBB has recently received numerous complaints against this business, and will issue a rating after it has fully evaluated them."
Now, if you had read any of the above BEFORE investing with them...would you have investigated further and possibly avoided them altogether?
As far as your website..yes, it is pretty sad. As well, smart online consumers always click the "contact us" links to see if there is a verifiable address. The top link does not work but gives an email. The link on the left side works..but just takes you to a link to email. If I was considering a purchase from this site...I would have already decided against it.
Granted there is a phone number on the "FAQ's", but honestly, a legit site has the phone number and address right on top of the homepage..and especially on any "contact us" links. I will sometimes use a site even if it look amateurish..as long as the contact info is legit and well exposed, and the prices and return policies are great. And of course after I spend some time conducting an internet search to see if others have lodged complaints or have had success..and not just fake testimonies, a savvy online consumer can tell the difference.
