Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Foster Communities refuses to make warranty repairs for me. When Foster communities built my home they didn't place a gutter over my porch to catch water that runs off the roof. The water puddles in the mulch bed and had already eroded the mulch and dirt beneath.

I have been calling, and emailing Foster (no reponse). The only time I've been able to get attention is when I can catch the construction supervisor. He's even come to the house to see the problem. He agreed that it's a problem. And promised to get it fixed that was two months ago, it's still not fixed. I video taped the issue during our Thanksgiving '04 rain storm. I called Foster that day to tell them that I have a clip of the problem, and asked for an email address were I can send it (no response).

Foster is building several other communities in and around PG County Maryland. If you are purchasing a home from Foster Communities be careful, have your own inspector during the building process, ask questions and don't settle until everything in and around your house is to your satisfaction.

There have been other headaches myself and my neighbors have encountered with Foster, but this one could cost me major headaches and dollars down the road if it doesn't get fixed (cracked foundation, leaky basment, mold, just to name a few).

So please when dealing with any builder (in this case especially Foster) beware...

Your rebuttal is laughable, at best:

First, it clearly was not proofread. Howevlet's let's set aside your blatant disregard for the English language.

What is really funny about it is...you are rebutting a complaint that was lodged...EIGHT YEARS AGO.

Now, tell us again... Who needs to check their facts? (now that is what I call...HILARIOUS).

We follow all building codes and if there is no gutter on his house where it is required to be foster would not of passed final inspection. So many homeowners move into their home with new grass and after they wait to long and decide to be a yard person do they decide to water the grass or contact Foster after their year warranty. We have a 10 structural warranty.I have met with county inspectors and never was asked to fix a complaint about standing water or grading. The homeowners have 1 tear warranty on settlement and I have went back even after 3 years to fix yards that I saw may be a problem even without the homeowner contacting me.

We have been in this community for too many years thanks to a slow economy and just being there makes people think you are their maintenance man for every problem.example of just a couple, one homeowner who was in their house for 3 years had a plumbing problem and was all mad so we checked it out and it was a clogged drain full of hair.Another homeowner after a couple years wanted me to replace a plant that died from a nasty snowstorm.I told her i would but it would cost.Cant help that cause. The homeowners here have been taken care with so many extras you cant believe. If i can help I do it.Now if this person would of done things right he would not have a problem.

The County could easily make us fix this if their was a problem.People tend to take videos of puddling while its raining but never after 24 hours to show its still there.Trust me when Homeowners have a legit prom or not so legit we tend to help.Funny how you dont get the real truth just half of it.We build a solid home and even improve homes to make the better even if it cost us more.We dont take shortcuts. We strive QUALITY.We are not perfect but we try and we do have our walk list from when you buy the house and a 1 year service list.If this guy really had a problem it would of been fixed. Please always try and get both sides of a complaint.
