FotoConnection DISCEPTIVE, FRAUDULENT SALES AND POLICIES Midwood New York
I purchased a camcorder online at FotoConnection.com back in Oct of 2007. Everything I ordered came up as in stock. The following day or so, I received a call from John at FotoConnection and he attempted to sell me additional items and said everything was in stock and I'd receive it within a week.
I received the camcorder and accessories EXCEPT for the 2 camcorder batteries I had ordered.
The enclosed invoice actually showed that the camcorder batteries were being shipped from a different warehouse and would arrive shortly.
I called 3 times to find out where the batteries were and was told, twice, that they were en route. Finally, I got a customer service rep that advised me that the batteries had been backordered since before I placed my order online and there was no expected delivery date. Mind you this was after the 10-day return policy had elapsed. I requested an RMA# and they refused.
I submitted 3 AMEX disputes as a result. The 1st inspired FotoConnection to issue a credit of $99 in good faith for the inconvenience. The 2nd response advised that they had credited me for the batteries I ordered but would not accept a return. Keep in mind that these batteries are $149.99 each and I have documentation from AMEX explaining the $99 credit as anything but a refund for the batteries PLUS they never received any complaints when in fact I have all of the dates, times and names of the individuals I spoke with. The 3rd dispute is still pending as I should have been credited $299.98 for the 2 batteries I never received.
I will be issuing a complaint with the BBB and any other complaint service available. FotoConnection practices disceptive sales tactics and outrightly lies. They should be held accountable and investigated accordingly.
