After our first bus ride from the Las Vegas air port to the rental car building, we waiting over 30 minutes for the shuttle to the Fox Rental agency about 2 miles further. We all headed into the building. After slipping on all the broken tile on the floor, we did get a rental agent who did process our rental paper work.

When we asked him to accompany us to inspect the car, he said they were too busy and after all, the car is in good condition according to his record. So we take our contract and keys, find the car and do our best to examine the car in the poor night lighting in the parking lot. The car ran well and we experienced no problems with it or anything else - not even a close call or parking it in a "bad" spot.

When we returned the vehicle, the young man asked for the rental contract which I gave him. He then went directly to the right, front bumper and pointed out that the fender was hanging about 1/2" below the upper fender. When we looked, it had pulled out of the hanging fastener. No other damage noticed including any impact damage on the sheet metal.

It appears it may have caught on something when it was in reverse - something we are certain we did not do. The supervisor was called out but we were not allowed to make any explanation or ask questions - she simply wrote an accident report and handed it to us saying we did not have to sign it but it would be reported. I'm filing a complaint with the head office.

When I could not find the head office address on their site, I Googles for their address. I found complaints on this site, boingboing.net, the Better Business Bureau, California Attorney General's office (a suit this company lost), carreview.com and the California Dept of Consumer Affairs. Bottom line, we feel "set-up". My husband is a professional driver and in just the last year has had 100,000+ accident free mile driving record in an 18 wheel HAZMAT truck and that record goes back years. We are over 60 and very cautious drivers.
