I can't believe all this scam is going on! How do these people live. I'm a college student and have been contacted 2 times in a week. First, I fell for it.
Being a college student and needing to pay for tuition, I was excited. I asked how do I know this is not a scam? He, this Mike Willis, explained to me everything I've heard from the all of the other funds and grants organizations and thought it was real. He asked for my bank account # and not knowing any better, I gave it to him. At the end it's when I got very nervous, he said that I will have to pay a total of $247 to process all of my paper work. I asked him, why would I have to pay when the govt., is giving me free money. After all is said and done, I immediately called my father and I gave him all the information that this person gave me and he looked it up and it was all a scam.
I acted quickly and cancelled and credit card and my bank account. Now I have to open a new account and it is all not very convinient for me being 12 hours away from my bank. Luckily, everything was done on the phone with my bank. I feel better knowing that these scamming people won't be getting any money from me. I felt like a real dumbass, but I didn't know any better. Now this evening, the same people called me but this man had a different name, Greg, and his accent wasn't as thick but I could still tell. He gave me a different name, address and phone number but I quickly pulled up their scams on this site and harasses them.
I told them that I am trying to go to school and make a living for myself so that I will have a job where I can save lives and helping others but not myself. I told him to go to hell and f**** off and never call again. Our govt, need to do something about this whole mess. If they won't take actions then let us people know and we will find these f*&%$ people and stop this scam so that noone should ever have to fo through this.
