Fry's Electornics, Valerie Sanchez ripoff of 256k memory chips,they refused to accept after instructing me to return them Woodland Hills California
I purchased two 256mg RAM from Fry's electronics on August 15,2002. Upon installing them my started to have problems and the memory did not show as 256mg. The memory only showed as approximately 128mg each. I called the store and spoke several times with various people about returning the RAM.
Finally after several days, I got a hold of Valerie Sanchez who istructed me to return the RAM by United States Postal Service. I mailed the RAM back certified, return receipt requested from Victorville, California. After two weeks I checked with the post office and they informed me that the package was sitting in the Woodland Hills post office and had not been picked up by Fry's despite 2 notifications. Finally, I got notification that the package has been returned to me because Fry's refused to accept it. What a rip-off.
I followed their instructions to the letter and now the return date is passed. I can't get a straight answer from the store.

Brian, What a cheap, low-down thing to do! Those scoundrels ran out the clock on their own oppressive return policy. Unfortunately for them you have proof that you followed their rules only to be cheated. Take them to small claims court immediately. Gather your documentation and make note of the dates that the returned chips remained at the post office unclaimed. That's fraud on their part and will most likely earn you punitive damages. Ask for a full refund, reimbursement for the mailing fees and phone calls. Don't bother asking for lost wages for having to appear in small claims--but do ask for punitive damages of $500 or more for their dishonest behavior. Your argument will be that: Fry's Electronics counts on honest customers like yourself to follow their rules in order to cheat them. You will ask for punitive damages to punish them for what they did to you and to make them think twice before doing it again. Good Luck!
