I feel terrible, panic striken. like everyone else I have read reports from this site. I recieved a call a matter of hours ago from FIC-Tess Deguire, employee number 545. the usual chit chat, speaking without taking a breath ensued. I really didn't get a chance to speak until I interrupted "Tess" to ask "so you can send me all of this information via mail so I can read through it at an appropriate time?". Tess replied quite hautly "You will have time after I run through all the information to ask questions thank you". ok, sorry for asking..

She sold me the usual spiel, but I am a natural cynic, and don't fall too easily for the sugar coated charm of Americans.. For some unknown reason I did however give over my credit card number which proves that their telephone tactics are almost water tight. but before listening to the verfication recording, and repeating all my details like so many others have done I decided no, I couldn't afford this.. Im a student, and already heavily in debt. I told Tess this, that I didn't want to take part in this.. she tried several times to convince me to agree to the purchase, but I was insistent. Tess' cheery demenour suddenly blackened, and I was put on hold and spoke to the "Manager"..

I explained that I was in no position to afford or accept this prize. The manager said "ok.. I understand.. we hope that an opportunity like this will come to you in the future then".. and then hung up. So much for the charm.

I was still not convinced that my details, and my debt would be safe.. I tried calling the numbers given to me... the voice recording made my heart sink "As you are sure to know, we are an E-commerce company, so we can deal with your request far more time efficiently.. "That to me reads-we don really legitimately exist.. I then emailed the customer services, telling them that I have made no agreement to authorize my credit card for charges, I never completed the sales process etc etc..

could I please be given some form of written confirmation that I would not be charged. Miraculously I did get a reply.. a very inspecific reply at that "If you did not indeed give any express authorization to use your credit card for charges, you will not be charged."...

I guess its something of a guarantee... but only time will tell.. Now I am so confused as to what they consider an expressed agreement for using my details?! I have watched so many shows in credit card fraud, little did I know I would be in the thick of it myself..
