I have my own garage door company Orion Door and I can tell you consumers in the Fort Worth , Dallas area, the springs on any normal standard metal garage door should never be over 70.00 each, labor under 50.00 service call under 55.00 unless your in a hurry like most people are and dont have time to shop/haggle the last dirty dollar you can from the lowest bidder your gonna get taken calling the first full page ad you see in the phone book , who do you think is paying for that pretty ink anyway, furthermore anytime you see a double truck ad as they call it, you can expect to pay double the regular/reasonable cost their competitor will quote. my ads are usually small but so are my prices and i get shopped hard as i call it,im tooth and nail sometimes for 50 cents from a few customers but it makes them feel better to save it and that makes my day. I always say, we love bad news so dont be the news As for my company , if it wasnt for referals of my customers I would have been out of business long ago. and of course a faithful and fervent prayer. So before you buy pray you wont get ripped off, then go shopping fearlessly CLICK here to see why Rip-off Report, as a matter of policy, deleted either a phone number, link or e-mail address from this Report.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Just for the record, Grage Door Service AKA GDS is Precision Door (PDS). You need to contact your Attorney General ASAP as PDS has messed your door up so that you will not only need to make repairs, but have to replace the whole thing. The banging you heard, well that would be the tech damaging several things on your door. EG the tech has hammered off parts of your drums, probably removed your safety cables and some rollers here and there, and even unwond your spring so that it will break and could possibly cause serious injury. Let me guess, the tech made you sign a "The company isn't responsible, I was told about the problems" paper? This is what you do, 1) have a repertable company come out and give you a written inspection of your door. Compare it to the first. That's always good for a laugh. 2) Make copies of these things, take pictures of any part you believe may have been tampered with and another company has told you was tampered with. 3) Make a note of any and all discussions with this company along with copies of any letters, etc that you have sent or will be sending. 4) Print out a copy of ALL the below reports. 5) Mail all this information to your Attorney General. 6) Contact your local papers and new stations and let them know this is a nation wide scam, that has been posted on such broadcasts as 20/20, and numerous local news stations nationwide. Good Luck!
