I bought a gateway fx 6801-01 gaming computer and have had tons of problems with it.First when I opened it and plugged it in,I got freezing on the windows start up screen.This is an indication of bad ram.After calling there customer support and explaining to them that my computer didn't even pass memtest but froze at 2%.I got the okay to open the tower and test the ram,which 3 of the 9 gb were bad. Then after arguing with tech support and telling them that ram is user replaceable and there is no need to send my whole system in for repair,I got bumped up to tier 2 and got 3 gb of ram sent to me..woohoo one for the team. I had also ordered their system restore disc's which turned out to be bad as well.lol I took a loss on this 20.00 item as its not even worth the hassle..booooo one for gateway. Next my gtx 285 that came with the machine is overheating big time in the 100c range under heavy load and 70c idle.this is bad!I talked with customer tech today only to hear you need to return the machine for repair because your graphics card is integrated.What? Are you serious.I then ask him if he's reading from a book?yes the huge gtx 285 in my machine.Anyway they still say I have to send the whole thing in.After hanging up the phone before getting all the return info,I thought to myself If I sent this thing in, I bet I would of got a different machine sent back in worse shape than mines in.Gateway are complete idiots.I will never ever buy anything from them again.They do read from a book just to get you to send your pc back and I felt the worst customer service ever. Booooooooo
