I'm so glad I found some type of site mentioning Gayle Barnes since I cannot reach this dog breeder (and at the time I met her she had a husband named Tony Barnes).
Our silver, male AKC German Shepherd just suddenly died last Wednesday August 12, 2009 so of course I'm trying to reach her to let her know. He was barely 7 years old and the autopsy showed a tumor at the base of his heart that ruptured. It was cancer and had spread to the lungs, liver, and spleen. I have tried all 3 phone numbers we had on our papers for her and they are all disconnected. Her aol email is no longer working and I never had a website on her.
My husband and I drove to her home in Momence, IL on August 5, 2002 and purchased Cyrus for $550. We were not offered any microchip and the AKC papers were later mailed to us. He was very small and never became a large german shepherd. His biggest weight as an adult was about 55 lbs. max. The reason I'm on here is because we cannot reach this woman/breeder. To me, that is not reputable and it's shameful. Can anyone help locate this woman/breeder or give me a website or something?

I was just wondering what ever happened to Gayle and was trying to look her up this evening. Wow! I'm sorry all of this happened to everyone. It's a shame if it's all true? I'm not getting involved in any of this, in any way. Again very sorry to read all of this and see all that has happened in the years since I've seen her. I was actually looking for her just to say hello and thank her for one of the best dog's I've ever had!! Some of these people that posted actually sound familiar. I used to be around training my girl Greta. Well, Greta is gonna be 9 yrs old this October and she's just a tad gray'er but she's as happy and healthy as she's ever been!! I'm really surprised to see all of this happened over the years. Again, I just happened to come across this site because I was wondering whatever happened to Gayle. Kinda shocked.
I'm really sorry all of you had such bad experiences. That's a shame... I doubt anyone will even read this since it's such an old thread but if Gayle does happen to see this I really have to thank her for such a perfect dog. Greta has been such an important part of my life. Greta has been a spoiled Princess all this time!! Never a health problem. Well, she has some food allergies and environmental allergies that popped up around 5 years of age. I know allergies have nothing to do with breeding. It happens to people/pets all the time. Spent a mintto have her allergy tested and continue to buy her special food w/oM her known allergens. She's down to only getting one allergy shot a month. Greta is worth every dime, not complaining. Whatever it took to maintain her health. Other than that, she's always been healthy. She really is an awesome girl and I wouldn't give her up for the world.
Again, no disrespect to others that had problems with Gayle. I just wanted to thank her for my dog. Like I said, she's always had the best of everything and will continue to be the spoiled little Princess of a dog she was even way back when.
So if Gayle ever reads this, I'm sorry to hear about all these problems you had but THANK YOU for Greta. I just couldn't imagine not having her. That little bossy pup I picked up the day after Christmas is still here and better than ever!!
Wow! Still can't believe all this happened... That's a shame.

I have current information about the whereabouts of Gayle. Her last name is no longer Barnes or Adcock. If you have a REAL charge against Gayle and need information for your LAWYER then I will be happy to give this to you.
I do not agree with the way that she treats animals either. She shouldn't be allowed to have any at all! She needs to be held accountable for ONCE in her life.
