A home remodeler contrated with me to do some work on my house. Financing was offered by the contractor for no interest if payment is made 3mths after the work is completed. Turned out the financing was through Conseco which is GE Capital consumer credit CO.

GE sent me my first statement in September indicating that the job was completed August 20th. I immediately contacted them and explained that the job was still in progress. I had to write a letter to the dispute department- which they calaimed was resolved in favor of the contractor but they never informed me until January when I again disputed the charges being billed. The job was completed October 30th but GE never changed their initial date for the completion of the job.

In January I paid them the full amt. of the contracted amt $7,902. Since then they have been billing me for $310 interest plus late fee with the total now being $378. I wrote a letter of dispute and have called customer service but their only response is that their original date stands. In addtion they call my house every day 3-4X day demanding payment. I have asked them not to call my house but they claim they will continue to call until I pay.

I have the signed completion certificate dated 10/30/03 and the Home Remodeler also agrees that that was the date of completion.
