Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Sent me an e-mail that I was approved for a personal loan between $1500-$5000. Gave me a loan officer to contact, a Mr. John Morrison, which I did. He assured me that I was approved for $3000 with a montly payment of $139.

Seeing I was not a previous customer, in good faith, I would have to put this $139 on a pre-paid debit card, which I do not have, but I could go through Money Gram (on line) and send it to them. This I did, but then it started getting confusing (which was when I should have backed off immediately, but I didn't).

Mr Morrison, then proceeded to tell me that they would issue the loan through my MG account and needed certain information, which I reluctantly gave. (Believe me, I know this was sooo stupid and I am not a stupid person, but I was in this instance!)  Then I noticed that my checking account was being charged all of these transactions from MG, obviously OD my checking account!

Mr. Morrison kept assuring me that I would get all this money back.  Then I noticed, these MG transactions were being cancelled, but the money wasn't being credited back to my checking account.  Then him and Mr. Justin Cooper assured me the proceeds would be in my account the next morning.

Come the next morning, of course, the money is not there.  I proceeded to call Mr. Morrison, but he put Mr Cooper on the line, then Mr Cooper informs me that there is a hold-up as my SS # was red-flagged by the Feds for IRS payments not received and I would have to pay one of them before the proceeds could be credited!

In the mean-time a bank officer does a 3 way call with Mr Cooper and myself and says that this money has to be credited back to me. the bank card has been closed (except for refunds), and they proceeded to argue that it takes 7-10 days for MG to do refunds! The bank officer told me to contact her after certain information was obtained.

I received a call from the Risk-Dept at MG to let me know that this is a BIG SCAM and partially was my fault as I gave them with certain information, BUT did not authorize them to debit my account at all!  I will be filing a police report, a dispute (with the bank) and hoping I will get some money back, but it is questionable.

To sum it all up, it is a scam and please, people, if you get an e-mail like this DO NOT respond.  GE Capital's personal loans go through 'Synchrony Financial'. It costs me $583.00 and a lot of emotional stress. Don't let it happen to you.

Remember a John Morrison and a Justin Cooper! Oh, by the way, when I GOOGLED the phone #, it didn't belong to either person!
