GE Money Bank - Care Credit online payments not posted-fees added and retracted--confusing bills Orlando Florida
I have had nothing but trouble since I obtained this credit due to dental work. First they sent my bill to the wrong address, resulting in late payment (I never got a bill), I called them right away after they mysteriously found my address and sent a bill with late charges on it. They reversed the initial late charges, took a payment over the phone (that they charged EXTRA for), then reversed that same payment, then posted it again. It took 2 more months to get that straightened out.
Even though my initial term was 18 months - no interest -they have charged interest and fees each month. I made large payments to be able to get this debt paid, some online, some by mail, my last being online (using the SAME account as previously)... they REVERSED this last payment, saying the account couldn't be found. It was the SAME account they used previously!! I called to inquire on this and they stated it was too bad, but they couldn't reverse the late fees because they already had once before (Due to THEIR mistake)... I asked to speak to a supervisor, who just kept repeating my payoff amount and couldn't explain why they couldn't "find" my account infomation. I asked for HIS supervisor, and he stated he did not have one. He eventually hung up on me.
I feel that this company intentionally makes mistakes in posting payments (once on the phone, once by online payment and once on their own) so they CAN charge the late fee and returned check fees, at 30 bucks a pop. I also had a couple of very confusing bills, with multiple payment postings, then reversals, then posting again, in order to say, "we reversed once, won't do it again".
I plan to file a complaint with the BBB and also let my Dentist know that they should NOT be recommending this company to their patients.
