I did not receive a bill for my latest payment.  The latest payment happened to be the payment that if not received on time, would cause me to incur a charge of over $2,100.

I have called the customer service line numerous times.  I have talked to someone in India for over an hour to no avail.  I had to beg to speak to someone in my own country.  I have been hung-up on or cut off twice while trying to deal with this.  I have three small children and a full time job, I do not have time to sit on hold for hours only to be cut off!

We recently moved so the mail could easily be messed up but I find it very hard to believe that this particular bill is the one that went missing.  It was a 12 month no interest deal which I have made large payments on each of the past 11 months.  My payment history makes it clear that I had every intention of paying this off on time; there was no reason for me not to make a payment.  They have offered to reduce the charge by half.  To me that is not acceptable, there should be no charge.

I have spoken to many people about this in the past few weeks and actually found another person that had a similar experience with GE.  That leads me to conclude that it is not a coincidence that my final bill never showed up! And weeks later I still have not received a bill although they agreed to reissue it?  GE completely cheated this situation.

First of all HH Gregg is not a lending institution so your beef is with GE Money. Second, you have no recourse against them either. GE Money is not in the business of helping you pay off your balance in the allotted time frame. Think about it...you borrow a sum from them and pay it off 12 months later. Not only have they gained nothing but they have actually lost money. They could have gotten 2% in a passbook savings account for Christs sake.
They can only afford to offer these types of credit plans because so many people do not pay it off in time. 5 days, 1 day, it doesn't matter...one second late is still LATE.
My advice to people who use these types of credit offers is to pay it off at least 30 days before the final due date. That will give you plenty of time to confirm the payment and thank them for the free money.
