In March of 2013 I purchased a chrome laptop from best buy along with a $50 dollar protection plan.
In March of 2014 I was informed that my protection plan was due to be re-newed so I went in to Best Buy
to re-new ,only to be told that they don't re-new plans instore but that I must re-new online using the link provided
in their e-mail, the link they provided did not work so I called their 800 number.
I was told that my new plan was 133.00 I asked why it was so much and was told that that was the new protection
plan price . I payed only because I didn't have time to investigate as it was the last day to re-new .
Unfortunately because of a family medical crisis I completely forgot to find out why my protection plan was
so expensive.
Fast forward to August, my Chrome laptop was completely broken so I bought it in to Best Buy for repair ,
they werent able to repair so I was given a brand new laptop but again had to purchase a protection plan
I needed an explanation as to why ,because I had just paid $133.00, needless to say the salesperson was shocked
I asked to see a manager and was told by the manager that I was ripped off and that I needed to call back Geek
Squad and get a refund for the difference.I called back and was shocked to find that they refused to refund the
difference of $83.00, I admit to becoming a bit hysterical at the gall they had to refuse me my hard earned money.
I called my bank and asked them to intervene ,only to be told after an investigation that the time had expired for
me to dispute the charges ...I find that to be very unfair and decietful , If I owed them a bill they would go after me
and I would be penalized by my credit being ruined.I would love to get the last laugh in this matter.
