They have lied to us every step of the way.

We received a quote for insurance along with the billing amount etc. Paid the first bill and THEN they sent us a letter stating:

Based on the following information found on your claims report your six month premium has been revised.

07-28-2005 (driver name my husband) Accident

We were told over the phone that if the 'accident' was shown to be a NOT AT FAULT situation our rates would go back to what we were originally quoted. We were both confused - we had no accident. Neither one of us recalled that he had been hit in a parking lot (not at fault - he was parked in a very normal in the lines fashion - someone tapped it and ran; we never even filed a claim! Just got an idea of what it might cost to repair and took care of it on our own.) We were told they could fix this within 24-48 hours once we gave them that information.

We were told at first we could prove it with a DMV report - which we paid 7.00 for an gave them.

Then we were told oh no, it has to be a letter of experience from our former insurance company. I bristled at that, but after being reassured on the phone YET AGAIN that this would get our premium back to what it was, I went along.

Now we just got off the phone with Latoya Taylor - a customer service rep who would NOT put me through to a supervisor as I repeatedly asker to do - suddenly said no, our premium would stay the same higher rate due to the 'risk'.

WHAT RISK? We were NOT at fault, there was NO accident - someone clipped our bumper in the parking lot and we never even filed a CLAIM! We are no more a 'risk' than we were when we originally signed up for the policy!

WE DID WHAT THEY ASKED AND THEY LIED.

Because of NOTHING that was of our own doing, they raised our rate by 200.00 a year. And lied the entire time.

We will be looking to insure elsewhere - and I am demanding a refund for the time wasted on a lie.

I was told that I had a claim on my record that was affecting my increased rate. I had left my car in a parking lot and had my back windshield smashed. I had heard that car insurance companies replace windshield, well - dumbass me, not rear windshield. After I was told that a $500 deductible would be necessary, I told em- never mind. Why should I be penalized for making a phone call. I replaced the window myself, of course after 2 hurricanes blew by soaking my car- God knows I was not gonna call them asking about water damage to my car. GEICO has given me different answers every time I call them and they neglect to follow up on anything. They really don't like it when you are a long time customer and get an online quote with them for about $250 less a month with the same info (only tickets) entered. They tried to raise my rate when I moved another $200 when I had already checked that the rates should be lower. Wow- I can't believe they get away with what they do- freakin criminals. Just glad I finally moved on. But I still get pissed every time I see a GEICO commercial, that I practically paid for with my elevated long time customer rates, so they can give better quotes to new VICTIMS.
