General Electric ripoff-Will not replace hotpoint refrig. that they know has a manufactures defect, the business that doesn't give a dam Louisville Kentucky
I purchased a Refrigerator from Badcock furniture, and have an extended 48month warr. but the problem is GE does not want to replace my refri.It has No heaters in it to keep from freezing up.
I've got my ext. warrany man to come out and blow dry the sheet of ice off the back of the freezer , and he told me that this refri. did not come with heaters this was a defect it should have come with at least one heater but many are made with two depending on the model. That I should call GE and let them know about this , And that GE is very much aware of the situation.So I called GE consumer relations and they told me that the one year warranty was up too bad on you.
That I have to live with it , I told them that this was not right how was I supposed to know about the heaters , and if I would have known this I would have not bought a GE product at all .The place that I purchased this told me that they would take care of this now Badcock furniture wants to have the appliance man alter my refrig and install a heater , I do not think that this is the proper thing to do, but I am just the customer I don't count according to them.
I paid $1169.69 and that is my hard earned money I think that they should replace the refrig. but that will probably not happen. I will never buy anything that is made from that company again and I will do my research before I purchase any product to make sure that it is not a GE oroduct.

When you bought this fridge was it new? What is the model number. If it is a side by side then it came with a defrost heater and someone is trying to rip off rip off report. There are no alterations that can be done to a fridge to add a heater to it. LOL. You most likely have a bad defrost heater that is not defrosting. 2-3 weeks after you purchased it you would have been in a no cool situation if there were no heaters. Someone at this store is taking you for a ride.
