This site offers personal loans. They require very little information and tell you that a representative from one of their lenders will contact you. My "representative" was Brian Scott from CW Loans. He had a slight accent and his number claimed to be from Adams, NY. He confirmed my information that i had already filled outonline and then asked to call me back in 15 minutes. He then called me back with a loan offer for $60k for three years at 6.5% interest with no prepayment penalty. He then got my banking info and driver's license number. That's when he launched into his Amazon gift card bit. I was to go purchase 3 $200 and 1 $100 gift card for Amazon. Then when he called back Amazon would confirm my cards. Then i could spend the cards however i wanted or use them for my first payment. He suggested that my process would go faster if I used cash but that credit or debit would work.

While we were speaking i was getting very suspicious. I started googling and searching for clues. I put him off for a little while. When he called back, I told him I had the cards. Then he "transferred" me to Amazon. The next man also had an accent and tried to get the numbers off of the card. I then told him I wanted to speak with his supervisor. he put me on hold and then came back, comically speaking in a deeper voice! When i confronted him about the scam he got angry and "transferred" me back the the loan guy. I then told him I knew what he was up to and that I would be putting this on the internet and reporting him to Amazon.

Luckily, I didn't lose any money (so far) but i did sign up with LifeLock as soon as I got off the phone. I have also contacted my bank regarding any unusual activity on my accounts.

I am furious that they are targetting people who are already in need of funds. I hope this helps someone avoid the same problems.
