GHS Solutions Fraudulent practices Delray Beach Florida
I contracted GHS to negotiate with my credit card companies for settlement of my debt. I was advised to quit making payments on my cards so that they could better negotiate. Meanwhile I paid a fee to them for several months before I could start paying into to an account that would accumulate money for them to negotiate with over a 3 year period. They promised they could stop harassing calls and they didn't. Luckily, however, I answered a call and found out that the credit card company wanted to settle with me for .20 on the dollar eliminating 80% of my debt. I contacted GHS to find out if the settlement would go through them or if I should negotiate on my own and how that affected the contract. I was advised that they would handle it. However, when told that I had limited time to agree to the settlement offer the agent told me that he couldn't agree on anything that quickly and to remain with the program as is would be a better deal. When I reminded him that they averaged .40 on the dollar in settlements and that I not only didn't think he could do better that .20 and that interest would continue accruing over time increasing the debt, he told me that I didn't understand the process. He was trying to keep me on the 3 year program further damaging my credit so that they could continue to get fees from me for something that could have been settled less expensively and much more quickly WITH my credit intact. They are now expecting to keep the money that they had set aside for my negotiation. They provided NO beneficial service at all to me.
