Dude, I just caught you in a lie. You have NEVER been back to Joplin to perform and GK still has the same comedy show just at another venue in Joplin. I saw him in Kansas City a week ago and he showed me the text messages you were sending. He didnt threaten you.....he responded to your threats! Real men dont threaten people....then act like a little girl when someone calls his bluff. And thats exactly what you just did. I read it all! Line for line! So next time you want to pretend to be a victim make sure your audience doesnt know the facts!

First, to the comic who performed, let me say this. While both you and G.K. were on stage the owners of the bar came up to me and stated how horrible it was and people were already leaving at this point. G.K. agreed to have me perform with no openers. One week before the show he called and said he was gonna have one person "do a few minutes" before me to warm up the crowd. The day before he called and said 2 "comics" would perform. After the show every person in the crowd came up to me and said they had a great time despite only one person being hypnotized. I even got two more bookings for christmas parties for people in the audience.
I do shows all over the country. I do well over 300 shows a year. At this time I am writing this I have already performed 20 shows in 2012 its only Jan 20th. I stated the show was horrible. It didn't go the way it was supposed to go. G.K. Palmer(if that is his real name) Didn't do anything he promised. He didn't book and pay for the hotel (which was agreed to) He didn't show up on time. He also didn't pay me the agreed price. I did do my show. It was horrible but it could have been prevented if G.K. had done his job. He didn't promote the show. G.K. told me 2 weeks prior to the show that it was sold out(he lied). After the show he told me he was staying at the same hotel as me and he would go to the atm in the morning and pay me. After not being able to get a hold of him for a whole day he texted me. He didn't even have the guts to call me.
He said in the text he wrecked his car the night before and he would pay me later. He lied. He never paid me. He got ugly when I requested my money and threaten to beat me up? Why? I do not know. No professional booker acts this way. The owners of the bar will not have him back because of all his shadyness. I struggled through a horrible show. He agreed to pay me and he didn't. He lied. If he has treated you well then you are the exeption. I have talked with many comics who have been screwed over by him. Like I said I oerform all the time and this is the first time this has happened to me and it hasn't happened since. I have returned to Joplin to do another show booked by another booker. It went great, because the booker I worked for is a pro. So call the bar owner and ask him why G.K. isn't doing shows there anymore? Before you call me a liar get the facts straight. I have been up front and honest and I have many witnesses to what happened that night. I am not making anything up. Mr. Palmer is a shady booker and a liar not me

I was the featured comedian for that night in Missouri. The show did start late, and, I remember having to wait for GK to arrive.
He started the show and I thought he was funny. He's a black guy and he had an all-white crowd laughing. He did a good job. He got the crowd to laugh and introduced the next comic. I didn't do so well. I stumbled over a few jokes and they cut my time early.
GK did a good job overall. The crowd wasn't big. But large enough to share some good laughs. The featured act was terrible. He was a hypnotist. He started out walking around babbling to the crowd. No one understood what he said because the music was to loud.
He got on stage and pulled half of the audience on stage. He went into a 35 minute hypnosis and no one was hypnotized. Let me repeat.....no one! During this time (that we couldn't talk or make noise) the crowd started to get restless. I remember walking outside and GK being furious because he had to give people back their money for not being satisfied.
The hypnotist went on for another 15 minutes or so. He started with 20 people on stage. Only 1 of them was hypnotized, and yes I did say only 1. And I honestly think she was faking.
After the show, GK paid me. He also booked me for another show the following month....he paid me then. I've been watching him have show every weekend for the last 6 months and never heard any complaints about him.
Not saying this person isnt telling the truth. Just saying there something more to the story he isnt telling. If you are just being nice asking for money....why would he just threaten you? Anytime I've ever seen him he has been nice and straightforward. So I call that a lie by omission. There is something more to this guy's story.
