For the last 2 months I have received invoices from 'Global Living' that I never ordered. Oddly enough the invoice is listed under my previously married name of 'Onesti'- I legally changed back to my maiden name of 'Van Hook' over 4 years ago!! They are saying that there is a past due balance of '$29.95' & a present balance due of '$29.95'. How can I get this situation dealt with in a timely manner? I can't believe how low individual will stoop... Thank you for your efficient response to this matter.

Here's What You Do ..DO NOT BE BULLIED!! First, don't pay it. Call them and ask to speak to the Customer Service Relations Manager to resolve the problem. Call during business hours only because the manager will not be there if you call after-hours. Resolve the problem through him and him alone. Do not talk to the Customer Service Reps because they will do and say anything to keep your account open. Resolve your problem only through the manager. Then do the following if you believe you have been a victim of their unlawful billing practices. Be concise with specific dates of the events leading up to your complaint. Do the following: 1. Contact The FTC (Federal Trade Commission) and file a complaint. You can do this online or call their hotline. 2. Contact the NY Attorney General's office and file a complaint. You can do this online or call their hotline. 3. Keep a record of all your dealings with this company especially when talking to them to resolve your problems. DO NOT BE BULLIED INTO PAYING!! These guys have been getting away with deceitful billing practices for a long time now. If the FTC and the Attorney General's Office gets enough complaints, they will be investigated. Hopefully they will be shut down, so do the above.

Oh no, the dog just made a "payment" on the rug! Why didn't someone let him out!

Cindy, it's the old fake magazine bill con. Think about it, $29.95 times 1000 people. Well, gee, that's almost $30,000. Not too shabby for a month's work is it? I usually handle that by sending them payment promptly. Of course, my idea of payment is somewhat different than theirs. Look around your house. Is that a dead goldfish in the tank? Better get rid of that before it pollutes the rest of the fish! The kids uneaten brocolli? Did the dog spit up again? Gee, I just happen to have this envelope right here. Scoop up the mess. Tape it shut. Mail it out! When they see that stinky mess arrive in their mailbox 4 days later, they'll go global! Paid in full, Global! You got anything else to send me? I don't understand why, but for some reason, I never hear back from any of these companies again.
