Global Source Center rip-off! Bogus billing! Miami Florida
On or about March 24, 2004 a telemarketing salesperson from Global Source Center called my restaurant and spoke with an employee. Approximately 10 days later an invoice was received for internet advertising, in the amount of $429.99. I contacted customer service on April 16, 2004, who claimed this employee ordered the service. I explained that I had spoken with this employee, who vaguely remembered the call, and she adamantly denied having ordered any service, knowing that she was not in a position to order or authorize any purchase for this business. Not wanting to suggest any unethical practices on the part of Global Source Center, giving them the benefit of the doubt, I stated that this billing was in error and most likely the result of an overzealous telemarketer who misunderstood. As a franchised business, we are not even allowed to advertise on the internet, except through the franchisor. They were asked to cancel the invoice and correct this error.
After receiving additional invoices, I sent a letter to customer service, again explaining the above. I also pointed out that the individuals name on this invoicing was grossly misspelled and not even close to the name of the individual they spoke with. Despite being contacted more than once, no action has been taken to correct this problem and we continue to receive past due invoices and numerous harassment calls to my place of business. Their practices are very suspect at best, and deceptive and unethical at worst.
Global Source Center was given every opportunity to resolve this matter in a timely and professional manner. They have chosen not to do so. Continuing to send notices and place calls will not result in any payment for a service not ordered, authorized, or desired.
