i've been calling global tel since 9am this morning..i understand with it being a monday, experiencing high call volume and having to leave your number so someone can return your call, but d**n..after "8" mind u, reps returning my calls, ONLY to tell me they have to transfer me AGAIN to someone in TN because they ALL were either in northern or southern FL. that is a bunch of b.s... here it is now 11pm, and i've gotten NO WHERE. each state should have there own global tel number instead of us being transferred to different people all over god's country. I've paid out enough money over the past 2 years only to be screwed over and over and over again by this company..overcharging for the rate of calls, one minute it would be $2.45 for first minute .59 after that, OR then .59 for first minute .11 after that. BUT wait, if you live in the same town as the penitentiary it's just a straight .99 for the WHOLE 30 minutes. get that one!!! TO ME, and i'm sure a million more people feel it should be just one set reasonable price all day everyday. i used too get a bill, but i haven't received a bill in the mail from this company in over a year. when i asked them about it, they said we send them out the 3rd of each month to you. go figure, ive been in the same place for almost 4years. I'VE had to call THEM every month for over a year now, just to see what i owed them, only to be told i owed a huge bill. which is b.s. considering i put the same amount on the phone each time i added money. your on hold for what seems like hours, or your transferred from one rude person to another. arguing with different people trying to explain NO i don't owe that much!!..they have NO form of communication with each other..they say there computers are networked together...that is definitely NOT TRUE. with most of the people i have talked to when i'd ask do u see on your screen where it says i talked to so and so..they would say NO most of the time..i'd say scroll down and read what has been said. i'd have to hang up and call back just so i could get through to someone else who had enough sense to just listen to me, and simply take the time by looking at there computer, help fix the problem the last person messed up when they put my money into the wrong acct. what ever that means and saying i see here, yes u did talk to that person; when the last person i just spoke with told me no i didn't. it's very rare u find someone to help u when dealing with global tel. having to deal with global tel is WAY MORE stressful on me, than my husband actually being in the penitentiary is. sad isn't it? i know when it comes to money, i don't like to be taken advantage of. ripped off. i work hard for my money. i keep track of every dollar i spend. so when i'm told i owe a big amt when i know for a fact i don't, doesn't sit too well with me..makes me sick to think there are companies like global tel's everywhere. sure there are letters u can write to your loved one, cheaper but not the same. for those who don't drive or have means of transportation all they have IS the phone. we want to hear our loved one's voices on the phone. we shouldn't be ripped off just so u can make a quick buck..if it wasn't for the relatives or friends of inmates, hell even the inmates themselves paying, there would be NO company/employees. stop and think about it...WE keep u in business and help pay your employees. i want to be able to talk to my husband dammit with no hassles and not be told a bunch of b.s.
