Chris, you issued a challenge here to have someone contact you.
The problem is that you do not answer your phone or respond to voice mail messages left for you.
How do I know?
Over the last month I have tried and all I got was voice mail and despite many, many, many, many message I have yet to receive a phone call back.
Just another extremely unhappy Globe Moving and Storage customer.

There is no way the BBB would call you at 10PM for any reason. But someone with Globe sure would be up that late during the summer rush. I am glad you got your items back; I sort of figured it was going to take you 30 days or so to get it; that's pretty much the speed of a scam mover.
With the way the moving industry is today, the ONLY way to go is with one of the major movers; it isn't a guarantee things will go smoothly every time, but the majors have far more resources at their disposal to make certain they make their deadline with little inconvnience to you. If they do mess up, they will also compensate you in the form of a delay claim. The majors also define exactly what a 'full service' mover should be, which is what Globe definitely is not, and that's from reading their own website.
It's pretty amazing the number of complaints they've racked up in just the first month of summer; it's going to be a long summer for consumers if they keep choosing movers like this....

July 24th----UPDATE---Roy finally gave us the address of the location of where our belongings are. But then what he wanted Brian to sign a release that he said his legal dept. wanted him to sign. So he faxed over our revised binding contract for the 7000lbs and the release. So Brian, without looking at the release signed it because he had to go to work. When I went down there to go get the fax for my file, I read the release. It said that even though they offered to deliver our things, we declined. That is a lie. We would never be so foolish as to pass that up considering we paid $4043. It also said that we were to not post any negative comments on any social posts. Well that is blackmail and illegal. You cant take away someones right to speech. Plus, what made him think that we were going to sit around for 11 days and not do anything about it. I had already filed complaints with whoever would take them. So I called Roy and told him that he needed to redo the release without the verbiage that says they offered to bring our stuff to us. Then he said that he offered to do it for $750 more and that we declined. He never made that offer. But none the less we did get the location of our stuff. However I was notified by the BBB that they sent the report to Globe on the 24th and after we got to the storage unit they called and made threats to the managers that if they let us have our stuff that they would sue them. Then he called the owner and did the same thing so the owner didnt let us have our stuff, and since the storage contract was not in our name it was not legally our stuff and we couldnt have it. We were outraged to say the least. We did call the police and made a report because we did open the unit with the key that was left by the driver and saw that our stuff had been completely unwrapped and damaged. So they clearly had no intentions of redelivering anything.
The owner said if we could produce paper that said it was released then he would let us have our stuff. So we came home and got the first release that Brian signed and he took it back but the guy said that its not legal since it didnt even have the company name on it or the owners name. He said it was something that we could have made up.
But to make this long and painful store come to an end, the owner and manager gave us the key to get our things. So Brian had to rent a haul and go load everything by himself then come back and by then it was 10pm. We unloaded until about 1am then finished the rest in the morning.
Also, an odd thing happened just before 10pm, I got a call from the BBB to discuss the report. I didnt believe it was the BBB, why would they call so late. He said that I could call the number back and someone would answer BBB but I told him that after what Globe has done to us, I have lost my trust and faith in people and companies. He said sorry to have wasted my time. I did call the number back and it said it was a non-working number. I believe it was someone from Globe to harass me. PS--I got an email from the BBB and they are investigating Globe and also Midwest Vanlines (they are the same) due to some other bad reports. I noticed when i went on there, that it now says this is not a credited company and they have changed their address and phone number from what I have.

Look, I have no horses in these races. I state my opinion based on probability as I perceive it, and I'm not buying that such a customer experience as was typed out above could be imagined by a copywriter doing dirty work for a competitor. I also expect to see a more official looking response when it is supposedly from the management of a major moving firm such as yours. I wouldn't expect the response to be authored anonymously by a "Rocksright - Miami (U.S.A.)", and I'd expect to see the owner or CEOs full name and business contact info at the end. Miami? The company is based in Kansas. Now maybe the owner(s) live remotely from the company base. It's possible. If so, maybe then they're not watching what their sales people, dispatchers, subcontractors, etc are doing. That ambiguous BBB "no rating/updating" status would be unnerving to me if I were a customer, or looking for a mover. Are you, representing Globe, asserting definitely that Brian and Jenell H do not exist as your customers? Please give some detail here. Just blowing every report off as a fabrication doesn't cut it around here. I'm sure many of us acknowledge that a lot of unjustified/phony complaints are made here; there are legions of such postings where frequent contributors lace into the posters. Too many of these moving complaints, however, just take too much of a stretch to accept as phony at face value.

I had a very similiar experience with this company. I would LOVE to hear Globe moving's side of the story though...or at least what kind of lies they can come up with next.
I seriously doubt this report was done by a competitor due to the length of the report, details accounted for, and the fact that I had a VERY similiar thing happen to me when I used this company to move from St. Louis to Chicago.
So Globe, what do you have to say for youself? How do you respond to a complaint of this sort? Will you do anything for the customer who was wronged? Everyone on this site is waiting to hear your response.

Well, when it comes to closing a deal for a moving broker who does happen to know a lot about the moving industry, this type of "Book" is easy to put together and make believable to where even the most naive, straight shooters would end up believing it. If I am a Broker and I am dealing with a 20K move that will pay me a commision of $700, it would be in my best interest to take 10 mins to write a "Story Book" which can ultimately be the deal breaker, since its a recent review, it will be one of the first reviews they see on google using key word optimization.
So as you can see, movers, especially brokers will go to extreme lengths to fabricate and manipulate the truth.

Sorry, Globe. Ain't buying the "competitor wrote this" bit. Not for this post. No scammer would have the patience or the imagination to write such an epic. The RR community is waiting to see some sign of resolution, or no resolution, from the author and your company. Until then, jury out.

Many of these complaints are fabricated by other carriers, it is sad that competitors have to resort to these type of tactics to discourage customers in using the company that they want to use. Truth is your move can go wrong with any company, Mayflower, Globe, Allied, Nationwide, North American, United... The person that will dictate the outcome of your move will be your estimator with his level of commitment, communication skills, rapport with customer, experience and more importantly honesty.
but its also up to the customer to understand the pricing method of how they will be charged, its actuall a very easy concept and if you have a good estimator that takes the time to explain it, well then you should not have any issues, if the customer gives a pretty detailed list of the heavy items going and the estimator does a good job at overestimating the items, then there is NO reason why the customer should weight more...BUT if the customer brings 30-40 more boxes then originally indicated then what can you really expect..
Bottom line is some people want something for nothing and when they do not get it, they complain, it is impossible to please everyone but being in this industry and taking our job serious...We certainly try, I do not know who this customer is or if your even a real customer, if so I challenge you to contact me at GLOBE and lets discuss how you paid more then what was originally quoted after reviewing your weight tickets and the quote you were given and I assure you that somewhere along the line you added much more items then you originally indicated...Guaranteed.
We only charge the same price per pound whether you go over or under the reserved weight. Other companies charge you a penalty.
I am certain this "Review" is just another company trying to discourage customers in using our service because our price per pound is better then most brokers and we are not even brokers, we just do not feel like we need to charge a customer a commision as brokers do (BINDING ESTIMATE FEE)...
Thats the real difference.

This is the 2nd black eye thrown on this mover in a couple of days here. The BBB shows this company she claims to have dealt with to be a BBB accredited business. However, the page you go to for details about the company has no rating and states the company's info is being updated.
http://www.bbb.org/wichita/business-reviews/moving-and-storage-company/globe-moving-and-storage-in-garden-city-ks-82022
It would seem very unlikely that a BBB accredited firm would pull this kind of mover crap, but the "updating" message is discomforting. Something going on the company would like to share with us? Is the BBB about to suspend their membership and lower what they claim was once an A rating? Were they recently bought by crooks maybe, who figure on cashing in quickly before the BBB membership expires and the rating disappears? Let's go, Globe. Let's hear what's going on. Competitors looking to smear you are unlikely to think up events as this poster wrote.
