Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
If you've read any of the other reports on Globe, I'll spare you the long and repetitive details and give you the specifics.

Every complaint about Globe is ABSOLUTELY correct.  I had basically the same experience as just about all of the other people who have posted.

Details:

Paid deposit on/about June 9th
Pickup was supposed to be Jun 27 or 28
Pickup confirmed for Jun 28 between 11-1
I continued to call as my girlfriend was waiting...found out it'd be between 3-5
No returned call and found out that the 'truck broke down' and the closure of I29 caused it.
Showed up after 8pm and finished closer to 11
I had basically a 1BR apt, with everything boxed and stacked and ready - my gf and I could have loaded a truck in under 45 mins the way we set it up.

The driver had new docs to sign and tried to collect 50% of the remaining balance in cash - I was not aware of the cash thing, since I was paying by cc.

Delivery was supposed to be Jul 4-11
As of Jul 14 I have yet to receive my stuff, I have not been contacted by anyone in the last several days and I have given up leaving countless messages.

I have over 10 phone numbers and about 5+ names of people I dealt with.  None knew anything and always referred me to someone else, who would call me - they never do.

FYI:
The NY office they claim to have, is a house.  You gotta love Google maps - you can see plain as day that the address is not a business.

Also - there is a reputable Globe moving company based in NY - I wonder if this Globe is piggybacking on a good company's name.

The website boasts about exceptional cust. service and that you only deal with one person, who will walk you thru the process to eliminate confusion and help in 'an already stressful time'.

Chris the Sales manager has posted several rebuttals on this site and others, but yet he does not return calls - I have left 2 voicemails for him.  If, as he claims, Globe is not scamming people - then they should do any and everything to clear up the extremely unacceptable claims that are being made.

I am somewhat certain I will never see EVERY POSSESSION I OWN ever again, but luckily for me, I have faith that this company will get what its got coming.  I hope I and others at a minimum get our possessions back, but also that these people go to jail for this.

I feel terrible for the people with kids who have to spend the time and countless dollars replacing items for their kids.

Lastly,  I do know the BBB is on top of this and is utilizing other gov't agencies to get this stopped and hopefully corrected for those of us that have been duped.

And for Globe's sake - I AM A REAL CUSTOMER!  LOL

I have finally received my belongings.

Summary:

4 days late
Delivered by a company not named Globe - Move Quick (out of Miami) was who the cashier's check was made payable to.
Several minor items broken
Multiple boxes damaged, broken or wide open - none missing
Furniture was scuffed up, 1 piece has water damage

The guys who delivered were very respectful, understanding and were very careful on the unloading.  They did not charge me for the 2nd/3rd flights of stairs since I told them I'd help to unload to speed things up.

All in all, lesson learned - GLOBE IS A BROKER - who does not fulfull what they represent.  To me, that is a breach of contract, but totally not worth pursuing any further for me.  I am hopeful my insight will help others in the future and that the BBB can warn others and/or get these people to change - to not misrepresent themselves.

I've been a pretty fair minded poster on some of these Globe reports, but there's so many lately, RR could start a globereports.com sub-site. This kind of issue especially I find hard to see the company offering a legit defense for - Holding the customer up for more money, especially cash on the barrel head by the delivery guys. Let's see what Globe has to say about this case. Please don't even bother, if y'all just gonna write this off as a competitor's post.

Contacted before 8am by what sounded like the driver based on the background noise.  He said he would show up tomorrow (Sat) between 7-9...now that I think about it, he didnt say a.m. or p.m.

He was adamant about paying by cash or postal money order.  He did not have record of my $1000 cc payment, so he is expecting me to pay over $1300, of which I have paid most of.  He said I would have to contact the office, to which I replied they do not respond to me.  I also told him I need an invoice or some proof of the amount/details as I will be reimbursed by my employer.  He said he would have something to me when he shows up and I told him I need it sooner, email/fax whatever.  He said he'd get back to me.

We'll see if they show up.
