Warning, do not work at G.M. Goldman. They will pay very low commissions and fight with you to pay them. They average approx 5% commissions and other companies selling the exact same products pay 15 to 18% commissions. They claim that their telemarketing department costs so much, that is why they can only pay you 5%. The appointments they make are all over Chicagoland and they offer no reimbursment for gas or tolls. About 30 to 50% of the appointments that they make for you are no good. Either the customers aren't interested, won't qualify or are not home. Good old boy type of company, especially harsh to females. When you are lucky enough to sell a customer, you have to fight with them to pay you. The average med supp commission from Goldman is $40.00 to $50.00 dollars, other companies selling identical products from the same companies are paying $150.00 to $200.00 dollars. These other companies want to give you the commissions as fast as possible and will directly deposit it into your bank account. Training is a joke, it is nonexistent. They want you to gain the customers trust selling them a med supp and then pounce on them and try and cross sell them a LTC policy, an Annuity or Life Insurance but they don't train you on the products. They are not interested in their agents, they only care about their own bank account. They advertise a $75,000.00 income on Craigslist, you would be lucky to make $5,000.00 and you would have to fight with them to pay that. They take the business, get paid the high commissions and keep most of it for themselves. Sales Agents leave and Goldman keeps all of the commission. Very high turnover. My advice, don't work for them, you will be sorry and be wasting your time. A lot of other much better companies to work for. Good luck.
