On 1-31-09 while driving to work listening to RUMBA radio station in Orlando, Fl, I called in to answer a question to WIN a vacation. I was told in about the 2 vacation packages I had won and for a one time activation fee they would go ahead a process my vacation. I pulled out my bank card and authorized the $399.99. Never during this or any of the 6 subsequent telephone conversation did anyone even mutter the word "TIme share".

ON 2-2-09, I was informed the next step was to sign and fax a reservation certificate which would enable me to obtain a reservation confirmation. I signed it and faxed it back 2-5-09.

On 2-6-09 (Fri), my wife called to reserve the specific travel dates, this time we were told in order to further process and make the actual hotel reservations we had to sign and fax a reservation form. We received a form which identified 11 different criteria we had to meet, it also stated we would have to attend a 90 min VIP guided resort preview of the resort vacation club. Besides the fact we did not even meet the 11 criteria, this was the first time that " Time share " was even alluded to, up until we received this paper we were still under the pretense of winning a vacation.

On 2-9-09, (Mon.) I called the reservation number to request my money back, I explained that besides the fact they had misrepresented themselves, I didn't even qualify according to their list of terms and conditions. The representative Maria said don't worry about that just sign the paper and send it back. I reminded her that not only was that a lie, it also stated that if I failed to comply with any of the 11 stipulations my visa card would be charged an additional $499.99 per stay, Plus cost of vacation promotion.

I told her I was not interested and I wanted my money back. She informed me the company had me on tape stated I agreed to it, I replied that I had won a radio contest and was under the assumption I was agreeing to accept the prize, which was a vacation. Maria told me not only would they not refund my money they wanted another $60 each for my wife and I to continue processing what was now referred to as a vacation package.

Again on 2-9-09, my wife spoke to Vicki Rodriguez, who identified herself as the manager. Ms.Rodriguez told my wife it was not a radio contest but a vacation package my wife inquired as to why they did not identify themselves as a time share promotion Ms. Rodriguez said " Your husband never asked, and we are not required to tell him that unless he asked". Why would I even link time share scam with winning a radio contest? I called and answered the required question about a humanitarian baseball player.

This is a horrible, manipulative scam to take advantage of regular people. Shame on this company and all the people who work for them learning word phrasing techniques to steal from innocent people.

You should be mad at the radio station

Why would a radio station allow a scam to use their airwaves? Sounds weird. You should be mad at yourself as well. When you win something you don't need a credit card to claim. Thats common sense. Yer bad.
