Gogo inflight offer an opportunity to connect to internet while on a flight in the US.  Very convenient service as advertised while it is being used, however, the problem is later.  The one month service contract turned out to be a recurring and permanent contract. Unless one read every little email that it sent to you after service is connected, it is impossible to realized that you have been lured into recurring contract and won't know until the next month charged hit your credit card (provided that you scrutinized your charged).  When contacting the service provider, you are given a chance to drop the service but no refund is given.  Thus, you just paid for another month

Gogo practice is like a snake oil salesmen, duping people into another month of charge.  There should be a better warning with regard to no refund and recurring charge and offer a refund with a prorated option.  Company that makes money this way invites poor service and complaint.

Gogo Auto-renewal Scam

#2Consumer Comment

Fri, November 16, 2012

In October I flew Virgin America and purchased a one month pass for GoGo in-flight internet.

A month later, I notice I've been billed again.  I have not flown in November and did not receive any receipt with regarding the bill. Had I not checked my credit card statement, I would have been unaware of this transaction. Upon reviewing the original receipt, I did discover that the service was set to auto renew, however there were no instructions provided regarding cancellation of the service.  After calling customer service, I was able to cancel the monthly auto-renew, but was unable to receive a refund.  This appears to be a desperate attempt to unknowingly scam people, processing charges that they never intended and are unaware of.  It is disappointing and reprehensible that companies like gogo indulge in these types of shady business practices.

Like most people, I don't want vouchers.  I want my money back and I want gogo to make their auto-renewal process more transparent.  If it is in fact done as a service to the customer, then there is nothing to hide, ie steps to cancel and transaction receipt.
