Gold Star Securities Scam, Check Scam Portland Maine
I received a letter in the mail today with a check for $4995.00. It said I had won $250,000.00 and this $4995.00 was to assist in paying the taxes on the winnings. I showed this to my wife and we called the phone number on the letter. A woman answered, at first she just said hello and I asked if this was Gold Star and she said yes. The woman spoke very broken english. I am hispanic and also speak broken but she sounded somewhat maybe mideastern. She told me to go to my bank deposit the check and then call her back and she would tell me what to do next. I did not understand her and we got cutoff so I called back and put her on speaker phone so my wife could hear as well. When we both started talking to her and she realized she was on speaker phone she got very angry at ME and said she didn't know what we were trying to do putting her on speaker phone but it wasn't going to work.
My wife then went on the computer to look up this company, as my wife had just recently gotten a scam offer in her email and was wary. We googled "Gold Star Securities" and google came back with scam, today, same day as me. Wow. I am so glad I look it up.
Got this scam figured out before I went to the bank and looked like a big ole dummy. Watch it friends. They are looking for a free buck and they are NOT getting it from this guy. Be careful out there!!!!!

My wife then went on the computer to look up this company, as my wife had just recently gotten a scam offer in her email and was wary. We googled "Gold Star Securities" and google came back with scam, today, same day as me. Wow. I am so glad I look it up.
Got this scam figured out before I went to the bank and looked like a big ole dummy. Watch it friends. They are looking for a free buck and they are NOT getting it from this guy. Be careful out there!!!!!
