GOLDMAN ASIA ASSET MANAGEMENT Invest my money by offering GM shares at an advantageous price (below current market value). Unable so far to have the shares sold and receive any money. Total $$ owing, at my requested selling price U$ 50000.00 Total purchase cost to me: U$35000.00 CENTRAL HONG KONG
The perfect scam
Phone solicitation of a small parcel of GM shares at a good price. Acting as a representative of a marketing arm of GOLDMAN SACHS ASIA.
Follow up calls from a Dunn & Bradstreet (?) representative to discuss my interest in, and ability to, invest larger sums if the opportunities arose.
GM shares kept rising and about 4 weeks later I was advised that a parcel of 1000 GM shares was available at a very good price (U$ 27.50ea.); I accepted the offer and paid for the shares.
Subsequently, the shares rose to U$44.00 and I requested that they sell the shares and close the position.
Then followed a period of excuses and reasons why this special deal could not be finalized until March to coincide with a yet greater offer etc.
I told them that I wanted to close the present position before entering into another and so far, two months later, I have not been able to contact any of the people I have been dealing with.
There is no doubt that the business was set up as a deliberate scam and the likelihood of recovery is very slim. All addresses and contact numbers relate to virtual offices and encrypted phone numbers. I should have known a lot better.
