Goodyear Gemini Center ripoff Outrageous Labor Charges, Took advantage of wife. Bastrop Texas
This is the complaint I sent to Goodyear Gemini:
My wife just had her car serviced at the Goodyear Gemini center in Bastrop,Tx.

I am completely outraged that this service center charged her $19.50 to test her battery and then charged her another $32.50 to install the new battery. They didn't have an Interstate battery in stock so they went over to O'Reillys and got her an O'Reilly house brand battery, which from past experience is junk.
They gave her a work order to sign that did not state how much she was going to be charged for testing and installation. The really bad part is that she could have driven down the road to O'Reillys and had the testing and installation done for FREE! The battery was $72.99 and the testing of the old battery and installing the new battery was $52! Even the Walmart down the road doesn't charge that much for these services!
I'll be in touch with the BBB, Bastrop Chamber of Commerce and any other consumer group I can find. I had heard that the Goodyear Gemini centers take advantage of women that go there but this is the first time I have experienced it.

And by the way, It was a Goodyear Gemini service center that put 4 ply tires on my ton pickup. Unfortunately I didn't find out what they had done until I blew a back tire! The maximum weight limit on these tires is 500 pounds over the empty weight of my truck. So with me in the truck and a full tank of gas the tires were at their maximum weight limit. I should have known better than to let my wife go there, even if it was a different service center.
