Jen, you knew this was wrong! You had a feeling it was a scam! Yet, you went along and gave them your account number anyway. That's like putting your hand in boiling water. You know it's going to hurt, yet you do it anyway! Why? People could avoid all these frauds if they would just do two simple things. First, stop for a full minute and think about the deal before you jump in. And, second, if you have any doubts at all, walk away or hang up. Trust me, any deal that is good today will still be good tomorrow. This buy now crap is just a way to keep you from having the time to think. By the way, these frauds never have your complete bank information. They pretend to by reading you the first few numbers of your bank routing. But, the numbers they give you are the same on everybody's checks. That's why they need you to fill in the remaining numbers. Once you do that, they got you. In your case, expect to see the money taken out of your account. Now, you're gonna have to find the editor's explanation on getting your bank to reverse the charges. Then, you'll probably have to close the account. Hours of your time, and gas spent running around. All for nothing! So much for your big grant, huh?
