Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
They lure you in with, "...just pay $1.95 shipping and handling for a CD...", mention a 7 day trial, but never up front in clear language mention that after that 7 day trial, $69.95 will be charged to your credit card each month.

I saw that charge and immediatly cancelled my 'account' with grantfundingsearch. Disputed it with my credit card company who then contacted me stating the charge would be put back on my card since GFS (grant funding search) had provided documentation that I'd signed up with them. I never even went on thier 'web site' or used thier CD (which they did mail to me). What I was expecting from them was perhaps a simple list of places that provide grants, instead what I got was a ripoff!

Yes, technically GFS does on page 3 of the terms and conditions agreement form spell out in alphabetic the 'sixty-nine dollars and ninety-five cents' monthly charge. However, failure to clearly list $69.95 up front (ie in promotional materials) in numeric form so that the readers eye immediately catches it is an attempt to deceive and pull a fast one on the gullible and rushed consumer.Further it is interesting how in their materials they are careful to use the standard convention when it comes to periods of time such as 7 (seven) days or 10 (ten) days etc, but all mention of dollar amounts are in alpahbetic form with no preceeding dollar sign or numerals.

This is bad faith and deceitful business practice.

If you hear of this 'company' run the other way! they are a sham boiler room operation hoping to get a one time 69.95 out of enough people to make a reasonable yearly income! Wish I had checked them out of ripoff report first.

Sir/Ma'am, I used to write grants for the Research Corporation of the University of Hawaii. I would recommend the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (www.cfda.gov) to find grants. Also, check out the Foundation Center online (or in New York City) at http://foundationcenter.org/ . All of this information is free. Best of luck. Sincerely, Brian Pellin [email protected]

Hi Kat - Might I suggest not giving up just yet. You say you didn't authorize the charge, so how can they prove you went to their site? They can't! If I were you, I would first call the Grant Scam company again. Act like you've never called before... ask them CALMLY what the charge is from. When they ask for an email address, give them an alternative one because this will tip it off as being a fraudulent order. If they ask if you've been to their website/etc. tell them you haven't and you don't buy things online, etc. Tell them, perhaps someone has hacked into my computer. Try that. Thanks.
