This company (a name I use loosley)has apparently gotten tired of just selling useless ebooks they have now moved onto somehow sneaking in a useless membership for what they call Grant News Network.

7 days after you've mistakenly ordered their Ebook you will notice an additional charge on your Credit Card account for $19.93 (it was $19.95, the same amt of the ebook, but apparently "Several of our customers have expressed a bit of confusion over their credit card billing statement and have made the mistaken assumption that they've been double-billed for their purchase of the Guide to Government and Foundation Grants.") What it actually is for is a monthly charge for a membership to their Grant News Network. They claim that they give a 7 day free trial and then 'gotcha'.

My problem with this is I never saw this offer, I never even received a standard receipt for the purchase of their ebook. If a company is not trying to scam you they will send a receipt, usually a request for confirmation of your order or something and they will remind you of the great bonus you are getting 'don't forget to check it out and remember if you want to keep the membership and all it has to offer do nothing and we will charge you a monthly fee of $19.93'. But if a company is trying to scam you, they won't send you anything and then bam your account gets hit and you've been scammed.

Another give away of a scam is when they give you the run around as you start your inquiries and requests for canceling and refunds etc. So you thought you've done what you needed to do to cancel this 'membership' and bam they hit your account again. Hmm, contact them again and guess what more run around, although I did get a definitive answer on canceling, but not much on the refund of the fraudulant charges....yet!

Stay as far away from this so called company as you can.
