Im a single mom and got sickened by the fact this company does not care who they rip off. After I paid nearly $3,000 for a one year membership, I had many concerns, from a six month membership (which I was told does not exist) , the "professional photographer" and being told "too bad" when I asked too many questions. After contacting the Dept. of Consumer affairs, I found out that a dating service law exists! and that they cannot charge more than $1,000. and also cannot "force" a customer to purchase ancillary services, (personal shopper, events plannning etc.) I was offered only a "package" so I went to small claims court, and Im once again being given the run around.
NY State General Business Law 394-c McKinneys book 19. You can also call the dept of consumer affairs, they have alot of information, as well as the NYState attorney generals office. I need to try to help someone else. It did not surprise me when I was offered a settelment under GE Management and then found out on the contract the company was referred to as CB Management, which surprisingly I am unable to find anywhere!! My next court date is Oct 31 2007 I wish any and all lots of luck
