Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

It took 3 attempts to call them to convince them to cancel my membership. I do have a cancellation code, which I will keep track of if I see any future charges. I really don't want to involve a lawyer, but It may be necessary to do so. I've read today about people who were scammed and I honestly had never heard anything about this company before now. I'm sick to my stomach that I was so naive and I'll have to tell my husband this stupid thing I fell for. All I wanted was to buy us some tickets to a comedy show and when there was a chance to get a rebate in the mail, I thought it was my lucky day. Not so much.

I had purchased tickets to a comedy event for my husband and I.  An internet rebate was offerred, if I tried a savings program for 30 days.  The information packet only arrived in the mail 10 days prior to the deadline for cancelling the membership.  I had also received a denial letter in regards to my rebate.

I attempted to call the company to ask about the rebate and also to cancel the membership.  The first time I called, I was on hold for 30 minutes to speak with a person.  Sam, as he called himself, put me on hold 4 times while he attempted to find a supervisor to speak with me.  The last time he came back on the line, he said we had become disconnected somehow.....the connection was good the whole time, so I began to ask about cancellation and he hung up on me.

My second call was to the number on the denial letter.  The individual I spoke with introduced himself as "Caesar" and at the end of the conversation his name had magically changed to "Peter".  He sounded very shady and unsure of what he was talking about, which made me just feel sick inside.  He explained some kind of rule regarding why I didn't get the rebate and by that time, I just wantetd to cancel the membership and get off the phone.  He gave me a toll free number for Great Fun, which I called.

My final call got me to a guy named "Edward".  I explained that I was very unhappy with this situation and wished to cancel my membership.  He spoke with an Indian accent, so I had to listen carefully as he gave me a cancellation code to write down.  He assured me that I had only been charged 1 dollar by their company and that there would be no further charges.  I will keep all of this informaiton in a file incase there are any further charges months down the road.  I've read that other people have been charged later from their account and when they called to complain, they needed that silly code to prove that the membership was cancelled.

I'm obviously book smart and not so street smart in that I believed these people.  It really tipped me off when the second service rep changed his name during the call and that they kept passing me around and putting me on hold, only to cut the call.
