Was looking to purchase a rebuilt/reconditioned Kirby Vacuum. Found a very impressive website that stated several things they do to the machine before they sell them.

Upon opening the box I inspected some of the points they described only to find a large amount of caked on filth inside the cloth bag and bag tube. That was all I needed to see to know I would not be turning that on in my home. I paid $504.89 for what I thought was a completely reconditioned Kirby that had it's outer bag sanitized and a 30 point inspection by 3 vacuum techs. This is what the website states.

What I received was a filthy used vacuum containing possible dust mites and flea eggs. It definitely contained someoen else's funk that I did not want in my home.

I emailed this company immediately only to be told "Oh No" "Sorry to hear that" "you bought a used vacuum". It cost me $60.97 to ship this dirty thing back which they do not pay for. If I wanted to buy a used vacuum I would have went to ebay and paid much less than $500.00 was my reply to him.

After doing some investigating I found out this person does sell on ebay. The feedback on his store website is his ebay only feedback. One can not leave feedback when purchased directly from the phony store. One can not leave feedback at ebay either because the transaction did not take place there.

This person or company also refuses to credit the full purchase price with no explanation. I am out of pocket a total of $90.97 and have nothing to show for it. This fraudulent website needs to be shut down. I hope this helps another domestic engineer out there who cares about the cleanliness of her home.

 Great vacs is an amazing place to buy vaccums. Dustin is great. I really don't know why you would file a report against this place. The used vaccums are always cleaned and sanitized before they are shipped. I love this site and would use it again.

This is Dustin at GreatVacs. I am responding to this report as it is inaccurate. . This is a very simple case of someone who things she is above the law. She bought a 12 Year old vacuum that had been cleaned and reconditioned. A 12 year old vacuum is not going to be perfect of course but she was wanting one basically new which of course she did not buy. When we got it back it looked perfect and looked like it had not even been taken out of the box. We did nothing to it and sold it to someone else who loved it. She also knew our return policy and it is clearly posted on our website. We have a 30 day return policy no questions asked, dont like it for any reason ship it back. No restocking fee its just less shipping charges and then we pay for credit card fees, recleaning (from the customer using it) and reboxing. So all our customers know returns are just less shipping charges with no troubles. So she bought a 12 year old Kirby did not want it for whatever and tried to be above the law with our return policy which she knew about. When we stated that all returns are less shipping she freaked out. Its our return policy for years all our customers understand this and that is fair. So this is a simple case of someone who does not want to abide by our return policies and thinking she can strong arm us into breaking them which is not fair to us and other customers. We are a legitimate business, we have been in business for many years with Thousands and Thousands of very happy customers. I have posted a few emails we have gotten from them below. "Dear Dustin, I am an extremely happy customer regarding YOU, your company, your great after-sales customer service, and the Tri-Star vacuum cleaner. It has been pleasure to receive the same courtesy extended after my purchase as I received prior to it. After 2 months of use, the vacuum cleaner has been everything you promised. Additionally, not only did I promptly receive the product, but the service after sales was the best. Without hesitation, I recommend you to anyone and everyone. Because of this, you may refer any prospective customer to me, and I will be glad to give a personal recommendation. The price on your site was 1/3 that of a NEW model and after reading several reviews decided to buy the "Ultimate Diamond Edition" model. I received everything as mentioned ad in excellent shape, tried the vacuum and was very pleased with my purchase. I was further impressed that a manual was included even though it was for the Sentria model which still showed all the basic things I needed to know.
