Went through Greenlight Financial (G.F.) to refinance our home. Partly to afford the increase in taxes that would be coming up. Did all the necessary paperwork, although it took a lot of work. Had to call several times to get our loan officer to return our calls even though he said he would be in the office all weekend.

Did credit checks and did other rearranging of our finances because we were counting on this refinance. For over a WEEK we could not find out the status of our account and which kind refinance had be settled on. Called customer service several times, called the manager, left messages with several people, finally had to contact the General Manager because someone was supposedly coming to our house with papers to sign the next day.

As it turns out- our loan officer forgot to lock in our interest rate so it expired so he just cancelled the signing appointment that was supposed to happen the next day instead of calling to ask if we would mind the interest rate being just a tiny bit higher.

He then offered to redo the whole process, but it would require another "gouge" in our credit. Since we were so tired of dealing with them- declined. Then we tried to refinance our SUV instead (through a different company) and because of the credit check from G.F. along with the rearranging of our finances, even though we had just gone through and done a "clean up" of our credit- we were turned down and this is even more upsetting because we have always had really good credit. So we have since had to cut back elsewhere in our budget to afford the tax increase along with life's other problems.

Obviously the experience could have been worse - but for us at the time it was EXTREMELY stressful. We have 2 small children and lots to pay for and lots of stress- it was a terrible experience and I don't think I care to do business with them again.
