My name is Jon, I financed a doublewide mobil home from green-point credit in 2000, in 2004 they changed their name to green-tree but it's still the same old jerks there.

They call the week after the due date if you don't pay on time (even before the payment is technacally late.) I am currently 2 months behind and they called me yesterday to tell me they are going to take the home if I don't pay them 600 by the end of this month (it's now the 23) so they gave me a whole 8 days to come up with 600 dollars... nice huh?

I am currently in the Navy and I have a wife and three kids (6yrs, 4yrs, and 4months) When I told them that their reply was "not my problem" so in other words, "I don't care if you end up on the street, I'll sleep just fine with that" ... Can you say "IN-HUMAN" These people really don't care what happens to you and are very eager to take the collateral back at the two month mark (that changed in 04 when they changed names) it used to be 3 months was the red line, but now if you are 2 months late on the payment, they will start the process for repossesment.

I hope this report reaches someone before they get involved with these people, they are very pushy and do not work with you enough to help any. They will give you one option for payment after you call them, but it's still out of reach most of the time. If any lawyers want to get involved with this, I would be happy to be involved and sue the crap out of the jerks, they need to be taken down a notch, I just don't have the money to hire a lawyer to pursue it... otherwise, I wouldn't have the problem in the first place!

deferal of payments

Hi. I too used to have Green Tree. At one point, I hit a very bad finacial situation and when they called for payment, I told them about it. I asked if there was anything that could be done. At first, she said no. I pressured a little and finally was told I could defer payments for 3 months. (The month I was late was considered 1 of the months) This helps a little because after the deferal, you resume normal payments again. Give them a call and speak to someone to see if they can help you. And just so you know, just because it is a new company, they still have to honor the original sales contract. They tried scamming me on late payment charges because their polocy was 10 days and my contract had a 15 day grace period. So, keep an eye on that too when you pick up payments again. I hope I helped

A few things (Being retired Navy myself)... 1) If your in the Navy you know what your pay is going to be, with basic pay and housing allowance, family seperation, etc. Did you just join the Navy or were you in the service when you bought the house? I wouldn't have bought a house that was outside of my BHA amount. Not saying that's what you did because your report didn't specify. 2) If your in the Navy how is it you can't afford legal advice when you have access to JAG? Unless you don't want the Navy to know how far behind you are in your obligations and having them take over your finances to get things back on track. 3) Being Navy I doubt you and your family would end up on the street. There's always base housing (unless there's a waiting list) and your getting BHA. Some things just aren't in this report.

I have them and frankly I dont have a problem. you are aware that you have obligation and if you tell them you need to have extension just ask. They have every right to call you for payment. They dont want your house and they would rather have your money. unless you dont care one way or the other. I have a question? when you bought the house did you look to the future and see that you would have another child or did you budget yourself or is your wife working at all? Being in the service does not allow you to forego your obligations to the general public. thank you
