Hi. I too used to have Green Tree. At one point, I hit a very bad finacial situation and when they called for payment, I told them about it. I asked if there was anything that could be done. At first, she said no. I pressured a little and finally was told I could defer payments for 3 months. (The month I was late was considered 1 of the months) This helps a little because after the deferal, you resume normal payments again. Give them a call and speak to someone to see if they can help you. And just so you know, just because it is a new company, they still have to honor the original sales contract. They tried scamming me on late payment charges because their polocy was 10 days and my contract had a 15 day grace period. So, keep an eye on that too when you pick up payments again. I hope I helped

A few things (Being retired Navy myself)... 1) If your in the Navy you know what your pay is going to be, with basic pay and housing allowance, family seperation, etc. Did you just join the Navy or were you in the service when you bought the house? I wouldn't have bought a house that was outside of my BHA amount. Not saying that's what you did because your report didn't specify. 2) If your in the Navy how is it you can't afford legal advice when you have access to JAG? Unless you don't want the Navy to know how far behind you are in your obligations and having them take over your finances to get things back on track. 3) Being Navy I doubt you and your family would end up on the street. There's always base housing (unless there's a waiting list) and your getting BHA. Some things just aren't in this report.

I have them and frankly I dont have a problem. you are aware that you have obligation and if you tell them you need to have extension just ask. They have every right to call you for payment. They dont want your house and they would rather have your money. unless you dont care one way or the other. I have a question? when you bought the house did you look to the future and see that you would have another child or did you budget yourself or is your wife working at all? Being in the service does not allow you to forego your obligations to the general public. thank you
