i have had a green dot card since 2005 and usually don't load alot of money on it since i mostly only use it for small online purchases. The few times that i ever loaded big money on this card, is when i experienced the most problems. Money would disappear into thin air and then when i call customer service they usually give me a flimsy excuse like "oh maam we are sorry but a mistake happened but we will return the money 20 business days or so" leaving me out of touch with me money until they feel like putting it back.

In spite of all this i still foolishly continued with them and you wouuld think that they would at least have rewarded me for my loyalty by treating me like a valued customer. Well unfortunatly that is not the case instead they treated me like they could care less whether i do businesss with them or not.

Recently i loaded 500 dollars on the card so that i can use it to pay a bill. Mistakingly i had let the money sit there for a few days and you guessed it when i was ready to use the card again it declined. When i checked it online i saw an anauthorized charge so immediately i called them up basically they said "dont worry that charge is still pending just call this number and tell them that the charge is unauthorized so that we wont post it." Well, I did everything they said to do but in spite of this they still posted the charge.

Furious at this point i called them again this time they said that they posted it because i was supposed to write them a letter saying that i didnt authorize that charge. I explained that when i had called a few weeks prior that i spoke to 3 different people who never once mentioned anything about a letter. Ayway they suggested now that the account was compromised and said that they will send out a new card. This was over a month ago and you guessed it i still have not recieved the card meanwhile i have no access to my money. I called and got the card number but they said that they cant tell me what the 3 digit cvv number on the back is but no worries i didnt need it to shop on amazon and now that i'm emptying the card when the money is completly spent i will close my account with them good ridance to all the stress. This is how they repay their customers.

Similar to you, I spoke to 3 representative and three managers.  Although I did everything they asked, they refused to credit my account.  It finally took 5 hours of phone calls and a line to corporate to finally do it.  Even though they said "this is the only time we will do this for you".  One rep told me same day credit, the next 3-5 days, the next 2 days, the next 11 days.  One manager said "when we get the fax from the creditor authorizing us to release the funds, I will manually refund your account".  Well the fax showed up and he never refunded my account.  They are a sham, a terrible company and I will make sure anyone who even mentions the name will think otherwise before using their services.
